"He's a twenty year straight get to work on time

"He's a love one woman for all his life

"He's a shirt off his back give you his last dime

"He's strong

As I sit in my plane seat I listen to my mom's favorite song on my phone. Even though a lot of people hated it she still loved it. I should of said used to be my mom's favorite, but I couldn't stand the thought of-

No, I tell myself, I will not think of her or him.

"He's a need to move something you can use my truck

"He's an overtime worker when the bills pile up

"Everybody knows he ain't just tough

"He's strong

I feel numb as the plane lands in my new "home." Nothing will ever be my home other than being with her.

The seat belt lights go off and I take out my earbuds so I start to stand up to get my carry-on only to get pushed back down by a hand slapping me in the face when the person that was sitting next to my hurries to get off the plane. I don't feel anything, I just remember memories of him.

I start getting up again after getting slapped in the face by my "plane buddy." I get off the plane with my carry-on in hand and start looking for the woman in the picture I have from social services.

I guess I don't have to look that hard when I hear my name being carried across the waiting area.

"Taylor!"

A beautiful woman that looks exactly like the woman in the picture I still have gripped in my palm runs up to me and pulls me in a bone crushing bear hug.

I can see the hurt in her eyes when I flinch away from her but she brushes it off and introduces herself to me. "Hello Taylor, you probably don't remember me. My name is Ella Winter but please call me Ella I feel old whenever anyone calls me Mrs. Winter. I used to be a friend of your mothers."

I don't even smile at her attempt to make a joke trying to lighten the mode. "I think I'll stick with Mrs. Winter. My name is Taylor but you obviously know that by the way you obnoxiously yelled my name all across the waiting area." I say in an emotionless voice and my face straight.

I can tell she's hurt and shocked by looking at her eyes but I also see understanding in them.

She let's this one pass too and I'm wondering how far I can push her before she breaks. "We should get your stuff and get going. I bet your tired and hungry from your long plane ride."

All I do is nod and follow her to a white limo were I guess others got my stuff because all my belongings are out here too. They put everything in the trunk and Mrs. Winter reaches out to hug me one last time but stops as if she know's I don't want to be touched.

It takes a while to get to where Mrs. Winter lives but we finally arrive and I have never in my life seen a house as brilliant as hers. This is one huge house...I mean mansion. Lucky rich bastards. The architecture is beautiful and works great with the Victorian style. It must have been old. It was also 3 stories. Like what? Who has a 3 story house.....mansion. The brown and yellow color fit perfectly with the swirly designs over the windows.

"Taylor, come on let's go get you settled in." I jumped when Mrs.Winter spoke and looked at her sheepishly because she was already a couple steps away from the house and I was still in the limo ogling at the "almost building".

I didn't speak as I got out of the limo and walked towards her. She gave me a small smile one that I did not return and opened the front door for me. I walked in and nearly passed out by amazement of the inside of the house. The cream colored walls fit wonderfully with the sculptured architecture.

You could see were the kitchen and dining room were if you turned to the right. When you turned to the left you get a perfect view of the living room. But when you look straight ahead you see a huge staircase that goes up all 3 floors. The banister was designed in a circular pattern to were if you were playing hide and seek on the big staircase you wouldn't last long.

"So...you like it?" Mrs. Winter was getting nervous to see if I liked the place I'll be living in for the rest of my life.

All I did was nod and close my hanging mouth that opened when I walked in. My face goes back to emotionless.

Its not like I'm not grateful, it's just... never mind.

"You will be staying on the third floor where my two boys live." Mrs. Winter said already going up the stairs with one of my suitcases in hand.

"Wait, I thought you didn't have any kids." I said confused as to why she didn't tell me I'll be staying with two boys. Wait make that three, Mr. Winter.

"Oh silly me, I almost forgot. Yes I have two boys. There twins and in the same class as you so you'll see them at school. There names are Connor and Jackson." She was still going up the stairs. "But you will see them in a couple hours when they come home from school at three." I started walking up after her when she was a floor above me.

I looked at me phone and it said it was already 1:00. I have some time to unpack.

Once she made it to the third floor I was winded. There was a long corridor with doors lining it from either side down the long hallway. "Your room is this first one on the right across the hall from Jackson, and Connor is to your right. I hope you like your room I designed it but we can change if you would like." She says as she opens the door to my room.

I am astounded to see that the room is actually something that I love. The color on the walls were black and Caribbean blue. They are in a swirling design and tiny white polka dots are all over the walls. There is a walk-in-closet and I get my own bathroom unlike when I used to live in my last house. In one corner, my twin bed sits with black and white covers next to the walk-in-closet. There is a blue and black desk in the other corner next to the bathroom. When walking into the room the bed and closet are on the right and the desk and bathroom are on the left. But in the middle, against the wall there is a flat screen TV with a black and white coffee table and a black and white couch in front of that.

I never thought someone could make my dream room, but obviously there has been someone. I know I should be grateful for this, and I am but I can't help but feel numb. My mom was supposed to help me redo my bedroom back home. It never happened.

I'm just standing there with my mouth wide open and stuttering to find the right words to say. There are no words to say for how much I love this room.

"I hope you like it." Mrs. Winter was nervously playing with her hands.

"I...I love it. It looks incredible." I meant it. I don't think I have really meant anything for a long time in my life.
