Cassian POV
Rhys wasn't thinking. I could tell and so could Az. He was being reckless charging like that but we knew we couldn't let him go alone. And so we all flew to our deaths.
Nesta POV
Cassian was flying with Rhys towards the fire wall. My heart was pounding. Why was I so terrified for him. I pushed the feelings down far. I needed to get the people out of Velaris before it was nothing but flames.
Elain POV
I avoiding looking at the sky. Feyre had warned me of the army of gold coming to us. I pulled out a curved sword and ran towards the flames of the city. People ran around me screaming and crying. I noticed Mor a couple meters in-front of me. She was charging right at the army. I yelled at her but she didn't seem to hear me. I sped up my legs aching. I came across a golden soldier. They were tall and massive. The solid gold they were made of glinted in the fire light. He stared right at me and took out a flaming sword. He attacked first. I managed to block his attack with my blade the heat of the weapon burning against my face. Grunting I managed to push him away. I kept swinging but no matter how many times I hit him or stabbed him he didn't seem to get any damage. So I kept trying and trying and trying.
Feyre POV
I landed in front of the army trying to take down as many soldiers as I could. No matter how many times I swung though nothing seemed to happen. They all ran past me. Cutting down the Fae trying to get away. The fire was everywhere. I looked up. To my horror Rhys, Cas and Az were attacking Laura trying to take her down. Trying to get to her past the winged creatures surrounding her like a fortress of gold. It was starting to be very clear. Our forces were breaking.
