"It's good to be back." Drew smiled down at his Roserade, who was holding his hand. They had made it to his hometown, LaRousse City, in the Hoenn region. He hadn't been to Hoenn ever since he left to compete in the Kanto and Johto grand festival. He lost both, making top four, losing to May, his best friend, and top 6, losing to Harley, his other best friend, who ended up winning the entire thing. Now, it was only him and the Princess of Hoenn in their friend group, who had yet to claim the Top Coordinator title. May had set off to the Sinnoh region, where she had participated in the Wallace cup, to compete in their Grand Festival. Drew decided to compete in Hoenn again, since he grew a lot stronger, and was confident he could win this time.

Drew ran inside his house to turn on his PC, and call his number one best friend, Solidad. She was the first friend he ever made, and his first rival. They really had come a long way. While he waited for Solidad to answer, he sent out all his Pokemon, and gave them Pokeblocks.

"Drew? You're home?" Solidad's voice echoed the room. Drew looked back to see her rosy hair and her eyes, calm and blue on the screen.

"Yeah, I just got here. I was planning on entering the Lilycove contest tomorrow, and then taking the ship to Slateport." he explained. He had planned out his entire journey  before arriving in Hoenn, so he could spend more time preparing his contest battling techniques, which was one of his major struggles.

"That's great. I heard May made it to Sinnoh yesterday." Solidad said warmly.

"Yeah, she called me from the Jubilife City Pokemon center." Drew responded. "She told me that her friend, Brock, is now studying to become a Pokemon doctor, and Ash went to Unova."

"Well, I'm glad you made it to Hoenn safely. I won't leave you on for too long. I have to go anyways. Good luck Drew!" Solidad jabbered before hanging up. The screen turned black and displayed the words, "no signal". Drew turned off the PC.

"Alright guys, let's go register for the Hoenn Grand festival, and get some sleep." Drew sighed, exhaustedly, as he returned his team to his Pokeballs and walked out.

"Piplup! Look!" Dawn tapped Piplup's head who was resting on hers. Piplup woke up to see an amazing view of Lilycove City from the ship. Many people walking, huge houses looking four times bigger than Dawn's in Twinleaf Town, the huge department store towering over the rest of the buildings, and of course, best of all, Contest Hall, where Dawn's first contest takes place. "Hoenn is so cool!" Dawn cheered excitedly, squeezing Piplup so tight, that he might have exploded. "We're going to have so much fun!"

Dawn walked out of the ship with her backpack, and Piplup on her shoulder. She quickly ran into the Contest Hall to register.

"Ah, you must be Dawn, from Twinleaf Town. I remember you. I was rooting for you in the Grand Festival!" the woman at registration pointed.

"M-me?!" Dawn shouted, hesitantly pointing at her chest. This was the first time a stranger had ever recognized her, and she didn't know how to feel about it.

"Yeah, you and your Piplup and Togekiss were amazing! I was super upset that you lost." the registration lady raved.

"Wow, th-thank you!" Dawn blushed, scratching her head. Piplup hid behind her, trying his hardest not to laugh.

"The contest is tomorrow in the afternoon. I advise that you go look around. Lilycove city is one of the greatest cities in Hoenn. You wouldn't wanna miss anything." the registration lady smiled. "Have a good day!"

"I will! Thank you!" Dawn smiled back, and ran out. "Piplup, first, we're going shopping!" she squealed, while observing the city, once again.

As Dawn entered the Lilycove Department Store, the first thing she saw was the adorable Poke-dolls. "So cute!" she exclaimed, as she held a plush Clefairy in front of her. She examined all the Poke-dolls and furniture sitting in the store, and bought a cute poster as well as a Pikachu doll to remind herself of her best friend, Ash. She explored the rest of the building, but nothing else was interesting, except for some Lemonade.
