"If you could go anywhere, right now, where would it be?"
Adena looks at her girlfriend, taken back by the random question, but thinks carefully and excitedly before giving an answer,
"I've always wanted to go to The Bahamas?"
"You haven't been?" Kat questions as she takes a seat next to Adena on the couch.
"Kat, I am well travelled, but it's impossible for me at my young age to have been everywhere in the world"
Adena laughs as she puts her legs on top of Kat's and takes a sip of her tea. The girls both had the day off of work, and decided to stay in because it was raining and cold and there's nothing Adena hates more than the rain and the cold.
"We should go." Kat states suggestively.
Adena's eyes light up, she hadn't considered the possibility of going on vacation with Kat since she'd gotten her Visa.
"When?" She asked calmly as she began to run her fingers through Kat's curls and up and down her cheek.
"Soon?" The other girl responded, eagerly.
Kat then sat up, looking at Adena with serious intensity.
"Let's look at flights?"

"You're going away with Adena?" Jane asks, it seems like a leading question.
"To the Bahamas?" Sutton raises her eyebrows at Kat, who then scrunches up her face in confusion.
"Wh-what?" She giggled nervously.
"Kat.. are you proposing to Adena?" Sutton asks with a smile beaming off of her face.
"No!" Kat exclaims, wiping the excitement of both her friends faces.
"We're just going for fun, we both deserve a break.. alone"
The emphasis on the word 'alone' makes Jane and Sutton feign offense, both of them would be lying if they said they weren't jealous of Kat's vacation plans - and her relationship in general.
"Soooo I'm finding you new clothes?" Sutton asks hopefully, receiving a nod from Kat.
"And when are you going?" Jane questions seriously, forever being the sensible one.
"In two days." Kat says quietly, neither of her friends here her very clearly.
"Please tell me I heard that wrong!" Jane exclaims.
"Two days?" Sutton starts, "you're gonna be gone for your birthday?"
Both girls look disappointed, they have a right to be, they were so sweet every year on Kats birthday, they knew she had a lonely childhood so they tried their best to make each celebration better than the last.
Kat smiled kindly, begging for their forgiveness, which she quickly received. Sutton slumped in Kats chair and started to scroll through some clothing websites - thank god for next day delivery.

"They reacted okay?" Adena questions as she sits opposite Kat who is sat crossed legged on one of the kitchen chairs.
"Well they were disappointed that I'll be gone on my birthday but," Kat takes a bite of pizza, "they agreed we both deserve a little vacation"
"Damn right." Adena confirms, rummaging around in a box to find her passport.
Kat smiled at her girlfriend as she watched her ponder around their apartment, a skip in her step as she was so excited to get away from the dreariness of New York's autumnal weather.
Adena noticed Kat watching her and blushed, a warm tone of pink coating her cheeks.
"Come here." Kat says quietly, Adena is already walking towards her.
The older girl sits gently on her girlfriends lap, wrapping her arms around her neck and losing herself quickly in the eyes that stare at her from below. She leans forward and pecks at Kat's lips,
"This trip is going to be amazing."
"I can't wait," Kat sighs contently, "god I love you." She finishes as Adena shyly tucks her hair behind her ear and bites her lip in a smile.
