In some forbidden part of the castle, a man looked in hurry. A knight, tearing down the corridor as if a bunch of rabid dogs hunting after him. He was alone. But that was a good thing, no one was supposed to know his whereabouts until he was done with the job.
The silvery part of his suit earned sharp cries as he doubled his pace, barely blending with the rugged and quick burst of his thick breath. Even though he hadn't been running for that long, he felt like his heart would burst any moment. And his legs would crumble like the rocks tumbling down a cliff. Perhaps it was the thrill of infringing the laws or maybe dread of being caught. Too bad, he couldn't stop. He had to get there as soon as possible. The place where his master was waiting. Waiting for him. And if he didn't show up with the thing he had requested for, his master would be extremely upset. And that could get him into a lot of trouble.
It was raining that night— which shouldn't be surprising given the stormy month of the year. But the man was drenched head to toe, and all he could think about was something warm and dry. Why the hell that place felt so far now? It used to arrive sooner when he wasn't into any hurry.
He would have checked the time if he had any watch on him, but the master had taught him to leave those distractions behind and trust his instincts more often. He had trained him to know what the time was just by chasing the stars in the sky. And it had been amusing in the beginning. To learn things no one else knew.
