Hi.

Chapter 35.
~~~~~~~~Rose's POV
I groaned as sunlight streamed through the gap between the curtains, rolling over as it disturbed me. I buried my face into my pillow as Doffy's arms were no longer around me as I had expected to bury my face into his chest but he wasn't there. I ran my hand across the pillows and down the bed, hoping to find him when my hand slid over the already cold sheets.
I opened my eyes as I pushed myself up, picking up my glasses from the bedside table when I found myself alone. Throwing the covers off I swung my legs over the side of the bed, stretching my arms above my head when a short yawn forced it way from my lips. I felt overly stiff, but that would be expected from being tossed around the last for days. I peered around the room, not seeing my tall lover in sight, I didn't question it as I made my way into the bathroom to start my day, the room seemed a bit off but I left it.
After bathing and dressing I wondered back into the bedroom, throwing open the curtains to find the town in an uproar below. How it hadn't woken me up or how I hadn't noticed the noises before was still a mystery to me. I slid open the window, hoping to hear what was happening as the mob was clearly angry about something that was happening very close to the hotel I was residing in.
Unable to make out what the crowd was yelling I opted to call Doffy to see if he had any clue. I picked up the pink snail with Doffy's coat and glasses on and waited as it rang. My nose wrinkled as it continued for an entire minute and there was still no answer. Not wanting to join the chaos I opted to stay in my room, seeing as I was still very much in pain from the last couple of days and I ached all over.
Picking a relatively thick and interesting looking book from the shelf I sat down on the overly large armchair before calling reception and asking them to send up breakfast. To my surprise they were no longer serving breakfast and that it was well past noon, nearly dinner time. I gasped as I looked over at the clock, seeing that it was nearly 6 o'clock in the afternoon. After getting over my shock I decided that afternoon tea would be best with a selection of snacks since I was starving and they weren't serving dinner yet.
I tried calling Doffy again as I waited for my breakfast, again not receiving an answer. I bit my lip, trying to remember anyone else's number as I stared down at the sleeping snail. Leaving my book on the small table besides my chair I walked over to Doffy's desk, checking for any form of diary, planner or phonebook that could help me. I sighed as I found no such thing, just a few pictures of us and a book on conquerors from centuries ago and more recent ones.
I smiled as I opened the book to the last page he had read and surely enough he was using a picture of me as a bookmark. Granted it wasn't a picture I would've given to him personally as it was a revealing photo, with me laying on my side after a night of love making. I laid with everything exposed, aside from my chest. I had one eye covered as my hair had been a complete mess from the previous night's endeavours looking straight into the camera with a smile as Doffy had said something that made me laugh.
I sighed as I slid the photo back where it had been before placing the book down on the desk. I stood there staring into nothing as I tried to remember someone else's number, coming up with small bits and pieces of my mother's number but nothing else.
My tea came while I had been pacing up and down the room, allowing them in to set up everything I thought of going down to my brother's room but thought against it seeing as he was technically on his honeymoon and I didn't want to spoil it for him.
I asked the maid where Doffy was and she didn't have the answer either as the guards outside of my room didn't have an answer for me either. I sighed before I asked if anyone had seen Baby 5 anywhere and just like before no one knew. I was getting concerned now as, surely, Doffy wouldn't have left me completely defenseless without some added protection. Then again, the entire floor was reserved for us and you only saw guards lining the hallway, not an inch of wall to be seen.
