Cassandra had been talking about the Triwizard Tournament all day. The goblet was going to be accepting nominations after the school day had finished. Cassandra couldn't wait to see who would try to participate.

Fred and George were cooking up something big but Cassandra didn't know exactly what. They were being pretty suspicious about it. Cassandra tried to get answers out of them but they wouldn't budge.

Cassandra hadn't talked to Cedric in a couple of days. She kept looking at him whenever he was in the Great Hall. She felt herself falling for him. However, she knew he'd never like her back.

Draco Malfoy was being painfully annoying. More annoying than usual. It was now like there was a stick up his ass. He kept bothering Cassandra and Harry more. He mostly bothered Cassandra now.

"Cassandra." Hermione greeted, walking alongside Cassandra.

"Are you mad at me?" Cassandra asked.

"No, why?"

"You called me Cassandra."

"That's your name is it not?" Hermione asked, confused.

"It is. It's just weird you called me Cassandra and not Cassie or Cas."

"Oh, now I see why you thought I was mad at you." Hermione nodded. "Anyways, did you hear that Cedric Diggory is putting his name in the cup?"

"He told me personally." Cassandra replied. "He's doing it to impress some girl."

"It's probably you!" Hermione exclaimed.

"Never in a million years would Cedric Diggory like me." Cassandra said as they reached the Great Hall.

The two girls sat next to Ron and Harry on the bench facing the goblet. Cassandra watched as Cedric's friends pushed him towards the goblet. Cedric was smiling and laughing as his friends urged him to put his name in the cup.

Cassandra made eye contact with Cedric as he passed the age line. He put the piece of paper with his name on it into the cup, winking at Cassandra. Cassandra felt her face get warm. Cedric left the room, smiling.

"Did Cedric Diggory just wink at you?" Hermione exclaimed.

"Probably not." Cassandra smiled. She shook her head and looked in her lap.

"That's such a lie, Cas." Hermione smiled. "You know he winked at you."

Cassandra didn't have a chance to reply to Hermione because Fred and George entered the room. The room was bursting with cheers. Fred winked at Cassandra. She just smiled and shook her head.

"Well, lads, we did it!" Fred said.

"Cooked it up just in time!" George added.

"It's not going to work." Cassandra said in a sing-song voice.

"Yeah and why's that Rose?" Fred asked, leaning over her shoulder.

"You see that? That's an age line. Dumbledore drew it himself." Cassandra replied.

"So?" George asked.

"So, a genius like Dumbledore couldn't be fooled by whatever you two are up to." Hermione said.

"Oh but that's why it's so brilliant." Fred replied.

"Because it's so pathetically dim-witted." George finished.

The two stood up, shaking their potions.

"Ready Fred?"

"Ready George."

"Bottoms up!" They said in unison.

They drank the potions and crossed the age line, successful at first. Soon they were blasted out of the circle and had beards on their faces. They looked like old men and then yelled at each other.

Cassandra giggled at the two brothers and told them to head to the hospital wing. They were fools but Cassandra admired them for it.

It would be two days before the champions would be picked and Cassandra couldn't wait.

Cassandra's Defense Against the Dark Arts class was quiet. Ever since Professor Moody stepped in, he expected the room to be quiet. It felt different when the classroom was quiet.

"Which one of you can tell me how many unforgivable curses there are?" Professor Moody asked the class.

"Three sir." Hermione answered.

"And they're so named?"

"Because they are unforgivable." Hermione answered, her voice shaking. "The use of any one of them will earn you a one-way ticket to Azkaban."

"Correct." Professor Moody said. "Now the Ministry says you're too young to see any of these curses, I disagree. You need to know what you're up against. You need to be prepared. You need to find another place to put your chewing gum besides the underside of your desk, Mr. Finnigan."

Cassandra looked back at Seamus, who looked scared. She loved Moody, but sometimes he was too much. And right now, he was being a little hard.

"So, which curse shall we see first? Weasley! Stand. Give us a curse."

"Well, my dad did tell me about one." Ron replied, looking terrified. "The Imperius Curse."

"Yeah your father would know all about that curse. Gave the Ministry quite a bit of grief a few years ago. Perhaps this will show you why."

Professor Moody used the curse on the spider. He directed the spider onto Draco's face which made Cassandra chuckle a little bit.

"Scores of witches and wizards have claimed they only did You-Know-Who's bidding under the influence of the Imperius Curse. But how do you separate the liars and the victims?" Professor Moody asked. "Longbottom? Give me another curse."

"The Cruciatus Curse." Neville answered.

Cassandra felt her heart drop into her stomach. She knew Neville's parents were tortured with the Cruciatus Curse.

Professor Moody then used the curse on the spider. The spider was withering in pain. Cassandra felt awful because she knew this would happen to actual people.

"Stop it!" Hermione exclaimed. "Can't you see it's bothering him? Stop it!"

"Miss Granger." Professor Moody said. He got up close to her. "Perhaps you can give us the last unforgivable curse."

Hermione shook her head no.

"Avada Kedavra." Professor Moody said.

Cassandra saw the same green light she saw many years ago. She let a tear roll down her face.

"The killing curse." Professor Moody stated. "There are only two people known to have survived it. And they are sitting in this room."

Professor Moody looked at Harry and Cassandra as did many of their classmates.

"Class is dismissed."
