Chapter 4-

Danir’s POV:

Kind Ordor definitely knew how to impress judging by the looks of the lit chandeliers and the excessive use of gold that covered basically everything in the room.

I looked down at the great hall, half the room was filled with tables and chairs while the far end was filled with rich wooden stairs and at the end, the blood altar.

The blood altar is where a drop of blood is set into the apparently very magical altar and if the pool of blood that already filled the altar turned black, that royalty will somehow destroy the kingdom.

Everyone was talking and laughing together as they patiently waited for the princess to arrive. Some of them were whispering about the fact that Princess Arden looked nothing like her family. It was true, the royal family now we're filled with green eyes brunettes and a blonde. But Princess Arden on the other hand had  red brown hair and mist grey with a hint of blue eyes. She was nothing like her freckled sister.

The sounds of trumpets filled the stuffy air and the grand doors widened to reveal the small figure of Princess Arden. She was mesmerising. There was total silence apart from a few quiet whispers from the ladies. I realised my mouth was hanging open so I quickly shut it and watched as she regally went down the aisle that sliced the tables and chairs in half and stepped up the shiny polished stairs.

All eyes were on her as she walked gracefully into the arms of her father. She turned around to face the audience, her hair was braided to the side and her dress was exotic. The trumpets sounded again and finally, the silence was abandoned and everyone started clapping.

After what seemed like hours of boring speech from the King about how lovely she was and from the Royal Healer who was visiting herself announcing the ceremony, Princess Arden put her hand out and the healer carefully made a cut in her finger.

The Royal Healer was the first to gasp. The blood that once reeked the altar began flowing out endlessly. Literally the Red Sea I thought to myself.

Screams echoed through the room and as the audience watched the blood flow down the stairs like a fountain, Princess Arden collapsed. The blood then shone and sticky gold was oozing beside the crowds of children who had gathered to watch.

The king was horrified.
