Harry gets down from the hippogriffs back and Draco scoffs. He walks past me, shoving the person on the other side of him out of the way.

"Yesss, you're not dangerous at all, are you, you great, ugly brute!" Draco says marching up to the creature.

"Malfoy!" Hagrid warns. "No..." He doesn't have time to react before Buckbeak rears back. With a mighty swipe, the creature scratches Draco, knocking him down. I gasp, and start walking towards Draco while Hagrid calms the beast down.

"Oh it's killed me! It's killed me!!" Draco dramatically whines out.

"Hagrid! He has to be taken to the hospital!" Hermione says running over to where I am.

"I'm the teacher, I'll do it!" Hagrid bends over and picks up a whining Draco.

"Hagrid! Can I come as well? My hand was hit on a rock earlier." I explain, holding up my hand and shooting Harry a look, who's eyes fill first with confusion, then with guilt.

"Come on Ms. y/L/n," Hagrid says, relaxing a little. Hagrid and I are close and he knows i'm on his side.

"You'll regret this!! You and your bloody chicken!!" Draco whines. I laugh and he shoots me a look.

"What even happened to your hand?" Hagrid asks as we make our way to the castle.

"Oh.. uh... nothing really. Just-"

"It was Potter! She grabbed his arm to calm him down and he threw her hand off!" Draco interrupts, suddenly better.

"Harry? Why would he do that?" Hagrid asks, confused. I stay silent and look down. Dropping Draco in a bed, Hagrid says goodbye to me, and casts another worried look at draco.

"He'll be fine, Hagrid. don't worry." I reassure him. He nods and sighs before exiting the hospital wing. I walk over to Dracos bed where Madame Pomfrey is tending to him.

"Is he alright?" I ask politely.

"Just a tad dramatic, but other than that he's perfectly fine." She says in a teasing tone. I laugh and Draco shoots me another glare, but only half heartedly. That's not like him.

"Are you okay deary?" She asks me.

"Her right hand is injured," Draco cuts me off from the bed, staring at the ceiling.

"It's fine, really." I say assuring her. She grabs my hand anyway.

"That is not fine! Why didn't you say something earlier?" She asks. My eyes trail to the ground as she grabs a potion.

"This will burn a little, love." She pours a drop on and it sizzles, cleaning the wound. I hiss in pain and lean my left hand on Dracos cot. He puts his hand on top of mine and stroked my fingers with his thumb. My eyes widen and I look at him, he doesn't make eye contact.

"One more drop dear, this one might hurt more than the first..." She warns. Draco pulls his hand off and i frown at the lack of warmth. He turns and interlocks our fingers again, giving me something to brace on when the pain hits.

Madame Pomfrey drops the second drop and she was right. It burned exponentially more due to the first drop getting rid of the debris.

I let a small whine out and feel Dracos grip on my hand tighten. The burning fades and Madame Pomfrey wraps my hand in white gauze and white cloth.

"There you go dear," She says as she cheerfully walks away. Lifting my hand I squeeze, testing my range of motion with the wrapping.

I didn't realize my hand was still on Dracos until his thumb started rubbing my fingers lightly.

I feel butterflies at every touch, even still. Probably because i've never interacted with Draco like this and it's weird.

I sit on the edge of his bed and analyze the blonde boy.

"You're a mystery..." I mutter.

"I could say the same about yourself." Draco retorts. I don't get it, why is he being nice to me?

An electric jolt travels through me as Draco rests a hand on my arm, gaining my attention. He opens his mouth to speak but at that moment, an obnoxiously high pitched voice is heard echoing down the hall.

I quickly get off his bed and sit on the one beside him. He looks at me with a sad look for a second as Blaise and Pansy walk into the hospital wing.

"Oh Draco!!!" Pansy shouts, running over and dramatically flailing herself onto Draco. He rolls his eyes. Holding back a laugh, I clear my throat. She shoots a glare my way.

"What are you doing here??" She rudely questions.

"Madam Pomfrey! Am I okay to leave?" I question, peering over the curtain she is beside.

"Yes, Ms. y/L/n! Do take care though, and come see me at the end of classes tomorrow for a new wrapping on that hand!"

"Yes ma'am!" I respond, standing and straightening my robes. An arm grabs mine as I turn to leave. Draco gives me a look and squeezes my hand. I send him a smile before walking out, checking the time as I go.

It's free class already and I walk into the great hall and slide in the seat beside Hermione instead of Harry.

"Youre back!!" Hermione wraps her arms around me in a hug and I smile.

"Of course! Did ya miss me??" I laugh. Small talk starts, and a few minutes later three more students enter the great hall. I make eye contact with Draco end he sends me a smirk. I shake my head, but hide a smile.

"Does it hurt terribly, Draco?" Pansy's obnoxious voice breaks through.

"It comes and goes. Still, I consider myself lucky. According to Madam Pomfrey, another minute or two, and I could've lost my arm!" I roll my eyes at Dracos dramatics. I cannot stand Pansy Pugface Parkinson.

Looking away I glance at Harry, who is staring down at his book with a blank stare. He feels my stare and looks up, and I look away.

"Y/n..." He starts.

"Don't." I snap, standing up. Hermione looks at me confused. "I have homework..." I explain, starting to walk away.

"I do too!" Hermione says, following me. I shoot Harry one last look before i turn and walk out. Little do I know, someone else witnessed this encounter.
