"Sei-" The gentle voice was cut off.

"Shhh, don't speak." And once more there was silence.

Cherry blossoms fluttered down upon the sitting couple, brushing against the woman's face as it deepened in shades of red, similar to the colors of the setting sun before them. The man pressed his lips closer to hers after what seemed like an eternity of waiting. Oh how sweet they were, he'd wondered so long of their taste. She began to squirm, trying to move away. He grabbed her arms and pressed in closer, not wanting to let go, wanting to hold onto this moment forever.

She tried to pull away again, but he refused. Her body weight became too much for her to hold, and slowly she laid back on the surface below her, taking the man with her. As she laid there, he opened his eyes to glance at the beautiful woman beneath him, and froze.

"Usagi..." Her name barely escaped his mouth. Tears dripped from her eyes, rolling down her cheeks to the ground below. His heart sank. Was this causing her that much pain? With every inch of his body screaming for more, he backed slowly away from her. Usagi covered her face with her hands and continued to lie there.

"I-I'm sorry!" She gagged out in surprised tears. "I-just I-" Her tears were followed by slight hiccups. "You caught me off guard, I-I didn't know you-"

"Loved you?" Seiya spoke.

"I'm sorry!" She sputtered.

"No." Seiya reached out and grabbed Usagi's shoulder tenderly as she sat up. "Please don't say it, Dumpling..."

"I- I love Mamoru." Seiya felt a part of him wilt inside. "I always will. I'm sorry."

Seiya stood, turning and walking a few strides before turning around and walking back. He looked down into her to royal blue eyes, the one's he had fallen in love with the moment he saw them at the airport just a little over a year ago.

"Do you really, feel nothing?" Seiya asked defeated. He thought of all those times they spent together during his first visit to Earth. Their time at school, their unofficial date, watching the stars, the late night conversations that took place secretly behind their friend's backs... He knew she had Mamoru, but Seiya was sure that he wasn't the only one that felt something during those times, only he never had the chance to truly find out. He tried partially before leaving with Princess Kakyuu and the others to go home, but what he meant didn't come across. He'd never been able to stop thinking about it... about if he had been given the proper chance to say something. Surely then? But, had he misread all those moments? "Nothing at all?" Seiya inquired again.

"Seiya I-" He continued to stare into her water glazed eyes, heart racing. "I- can't."

"Can't?" Seiya asked. "Why can't you? Or do you mean you don't?" Usagi stared at him. "I know you love Mamoru-san, but that doesn't mean you don't love me too. Usagi-" Seiya knelt down in front of her, and took her hand. "Tell me you don't love me."

"Seiya please." Usagi begged. "You don't understand. Mamoru and I- we're each other's destiny." Seiya quickly withdrew from holding her.

"I don't believe it." He said in a harsh tone. He'd heard this spiel before, once from an angry Sailor Uranus when she was trying to keep the two away from each other, and in passing conversation with the other Sailor Senshi. "You make your own destiny, and you're not answering my question."

"You know our past Seiya!" Usagi also became visibly upset. "You know who I am, how I met Mamoru as Endymion of Earth from over a thousand years ago. We were reborn here together, to find each other, to fall in love all over again! To start a new future together! You don't call that destiny?"

"What if it's not?!" Seiya retorted. "And what if- what if we had met earlier then? Before you ever met with Mamoru again, would things be different then?'

"But we didn't!"

"But would they be different then?!"

Usagi placed her hands to her head and shut her eyes. "I can't love you." She said softly. Tears began to drip down her face again. "Seiya, I just can't. I'm sorry. Please. You are one of my greatest friends, please don't-"

He stopped listening. Her voice became nothing but a hollow echo in the background, as only the sound of the blood rushing through this veins filled his ears. The pain that had been bubbling up inside his body for so long finally set loose. Seiya lowered his head, and backed away. "I'm sorry too..." He turned around, and took off.

"Seiya!" Usagi cried after him, but he didn't respond except to run faster. "I told her..." He thought. "I told her I loved her... and it's all over now..." Seiya couldn't pretend anymore. With telling her those three small words, he had changed everything, and he couldn't go back...

Seiya didn't know where he was going as he let his feet carry him. All he wanted to do at the moment was walk as far as he could before his brain or his body got too tired to carry on. Not paying attention, he turned the corner and knocked into someone. Without so much as a glance or a mumbled apology, Seiya continued to walk not noticing the person calling after him. A hand suddenly reached out and grabbed the back of his shirt, pulling him around.

"Hey!" He shouted confused and highly annoyed.

"What the hell is your problem?" The voice was as annoyed as his own. Seiya looked up from the ground, about to tell the guy to piss off when he saw it was his own friend that had a hold on him.

"Yaten?"

"What's going on? Why are you in such a moody daze?" Another voice, his friend Taiki's, asked as he turned the corner to stand behind Yaten. He flipped up his sunglasses with one hand, as he held onto bags of groceries with another. "We barely just got to Earth and you're already having issues? If I remember correctly, you were the one who liked this place the first time we were here."

"It has nothing to do with Earth." Seiya snapped. They both raised their eyebrows at him.

"Okaaayy..." Yaten said slowly. "First off, whatever it is kindly refrain from taking it out on us. Second off, an elaboration?"

"Sorry." Seiya said curtly. "It's just I ... told her...I loved her..." He mumbled.

"What?" Yaten asked, not clearly hearing what he said.

"I told Usagi!" He said loudly. "The truth." Yaten glanced up at Taiki with an, 'I told you so' sort of look. Taiki shook his head at Yaten before Seiya could notice.

"What did she say?" He asked trying to be sympathetic, but he too, along with Yaten, knew Seiya's confession would be a pointless mess from the beginning.

"Destiny..." He said. "She said the same thing as her. It's all about destiny, isn't it?"

"What do you mean?" Yaten asked confused, not knowing whom the 'her' was supposed to be in his friend's statement.

"There has to be a way to change her mind." Seiya said. "To show her that you can change anything; that you can choose."

"You can't really change who you love, Seiya..." Yaten trailed off not really sure what to say to him.

"I'll find a way."

Surrounded by the crowds of people passing by, buried in their own world, no one gave any attention to the three men's conversation. Except, for one small girl who had been listening the moment she arrived, as if by magic, out of thin air, and clutching a shining key in her small hand.
