Chapter 1
•The Royal Palace•

King Seth's royal advisor paced his room, his breathing heavy and quick. Balding now, he used to be one of the best archers in Aurora, but he gave up his skill after the King Arthur died. He was forced to be Seth's advisor to feed his family but his heart was loyal to his King. This explains why he was astounded when he received the letter in the dead of the night, just when he was about to go sleep after a hard day.

He could hear the creatures of the night wailing, the moonlight sweeping into his room and being the only source of light in the otherwise dark palace. He was lucky to have a room in the palace itself but he still missed his family terribly, especially his daughters who he got to spend time with once in a week.

He heard the curtains swish and his hand automatically reached for his sword. He looked around cautiously, his eyes alert to detect any movement.

"Long time no see, Michael."

He turned around sharply to face the owner of the voice, his heart about to burst out of his chest. He let out a cry of relief seeing the person standing in front of him.

"Young Prince Ali," He couldn’t help the emotions filling his voice, the Prince reminded him so much of King Arthur.

Prince Ali took the cloth off that covered his mouth and smiled at the old man. The latter kneeled in respect, he couldn't help it. The prince had grown, dark hair covered his forehead and his dark eyes gleamed. The moonlight bathed him in a soft glow, making him seem surreal to exist yet dangerous.

"I came here to ask for your help, Master," Michael's mouth twitched slightly into a smile as he got up from his position, the prince had always called him 'master' because he used to train him in archery. The word seemed odd to speak now, almost ironic.

"I realized that much from the letter." He replied, moving to the back of the room and opening an old chest.

"Are you sure about this?" He asked as he handed the golden bracelet to the prince. "Isn't Princess Aria dead?"

Prince Ali smiled, his hands tracing the intricate design of the bracelet and the dangling butterflies. "No one deserves this mark of royalty more than my sister."

To say that Michael was shocked would be an understatement. "Princess Aria? She--she is--"

Prince Ali put the bracelet in his pocket, turning to face the window. "I helped her escape along with me that day. I would not be able to live if I let my beloved sister die."

Michael slumped against the wall, his heart was too weak to handle all the emotions at once. The siblings were like children to him and the news of them being alive and doing well made him look upwards to the sky, expressing his gratefulness.

"The bracelet belonged to my mother and Aria would be the best person to wear it. The one who was most affected by the tragedy was her, I got over it soon but she could not. Now, the two of us seek revenge and we will end Seth's rule once and for all."

"Amen to that," Michael whispered.

Prince Ali strapped his sword on the belt around his waist, covering his face again with his cloth.

"Prince!" Michael called out just as he was getting ready to leave. "How will you do this?"

Ali must have smirked because his tone reflected his need for vengeance. "She will be back Michael, she will avenge us all."

With that, he jumped out of the window and disappeared among the shimmering shadows of the night.

•The Woods•

The ground rumbled as if there was an earthquake. Seven horses rushed past at the speed of the wind, causing the leaves of the trees to shake violently.

They skidded to a stop, their neighs filling the otherwise quiet forest. The man riding it smiled, his dark brown eyes focusing on the spotted dear in the distance.

"Ya, Jungkook-ah!" Jin cried, "At least warn us before you stop!"

Jungkook did not reply but shot his hand backwards indicating to be quiet.

"Did he just--" Jin gaped at the younger boy's atrocity. "Ya, Jeon Jungkook I'm going to beat you up."

"Calm down hyung, he's looking at the deer there." Namjoon sighed, these two were always bickering over the smallest of things.

Jungkook, unaware of the conversation behind him, stepped off his horse with his quiver. He was going to shoot the deer, his movements silent as he approached it.

Taking out an arrow and aiming it towards the animal, he was almost about to shoot but an arrow from somewhere suddenly hit his bow and he lost his balance.

The other boys watched in astonishment what had just happened. A person jumped off from a tree, dressed in full black and the lower part of the face was covered with a cloth.

"Think again before you kill innocent animals." The person said, and it eerily sounded like a woman's voice.

At the back, Taehyung whispered, "Is it a he or a she?"

"It doesn't matter, do shut up." Yoongi whispered back.

The boys got off their horses and surrounded Jungkook.

"Who are you?" Jungkook got back on his feet and looked suspiciously at that person.

"Why? Is my voice not enough for you to identify who I am?" The person replied.

"Definitely a she." Jimin whispered, making all his hyungs look at him in irritation.

She tilted her head and let out a chuckle. "I'll let you go because of these two. They're cute." She pointed at Taehyung and Jimin who blushed.

"We're not cute." They spoke together, causing the others to face-palm themselves.

Jungkook, though, his eyes were fixed on the woman's face or at least her eyes.

"Where are you all heading?" She asked.

"We were told to find an ancient temple here somewhere but we got lost." Hoseok said.

The woman raised her eyebrow. "You are the seven heroes?"

"The what?" Jungkook asked, puzzled but the woman ignored him.

"Right," She cleared her throat. "Go straight from here and you'll find a crossroad. Take a left and you'll see some heavy bushes. Go past them and you'll find your destination."

"How do you know?" Namjoon asked, suspicion lacing his tone.

The woman smiled. "I've lived here all my life. No one knows this place better than me."

The boys had stunned expressions again, this woman looked normal but she hid the deepest secrets behind her eyes.

"By the way," She added, focusing her eyes on Jungkook, "I'm Y/N and I hope we'll meet again."

With that, she turned and walked away deeper into the woods, disappearing like a ghost.

A minute of silene followed before Jin broke it. "Did the Golden Maknae just fail?"

"Hyung!"
