*Chapter twelve-To busy*

The end of the day had came slowly.I reached in my book bag for my cellphone so that i could call my mom to pick me up. The hallway was beginning to get crowded as students rushed out of their classrooms. I looked down hoping that no one from my class would see me standing here.I heard the door to the staircase get pushed open hard.A group of boys wearing their basketball jerseys had walked out laughing.Some of them were dribbling their basketballs down the hall.I didn't see Matthew.The door swung open again and three boys had came out.I saw Matthew. His hair was wet and one of his book bag strap was on his right shoulder. I was about to say something to him but then i remembered what had happened earlier today.I turned away feeling my stomach turn and my cheeks get hot. What if he wasn't mad at me.I turned around slowly and Matthew was standing near the door to the staircase.He was looking over at me.He put up his right arm and waved at me and then he had started to walk towards the direction of the other boys who had got out of basketball practice. I sighed and walked the other direction towards the front of the school towards the front entrance.

My mom had arrived a little later this afternoon.I stood up and walked towards the red volkswagen. I opened the passengers door and slid into the seat and placed my bookbag on the floor."How was your day hun" she asked me.I looked out my window."It was okay..." i said.My mom went over a speed bump and i jumped.

When we arrived home i walked upstairs to my room and threw my book bag on the floor. I layed on my bed and closed my eyes.I felt like i was making a mistake.I was thinking about tomorrow at school.What if everyone starts to pick on me.I thought about Matthew and why he had just waved at me and didn't walk over to me and hug me.I needed to call him.I reached in my coat pocket for my cellphone. I grabbed it and went to my contacts.I saw Matthews name and his cellphone number underneath his name.I didn't hesitate. I pressed the phone symbol on my screen and i listened to it ring.On the second ring i heard a voice and then laughter. "Matthew its Alexis" i said into the phone. I heard other male voices in the background."Oh hey..." Matthew had said.His voice had trailed off."How are you?" i said.There was more laughter."Im good ill call you later Lexi" he said.I heard his cellphone line hang up.I sat still on my bed with my cellphone still to my ear.I threw my cellphone on my bed.I understand now.
