The kingdoms of Althea are in celebration. The long war between the elements has come to an end. The period of chaos that reigned for years after the death of King Sidus is over. Now the people look towards the future, towards hope and prosperity. Meanwhile, Tenebra hides in the shadows, waiting and watching. She kept silent after the kings death, hiding away with the crown. Now she has finally discovered her ultimate weapon, and is determined to strike when the entire kingdom is at its weakest point. During the Elemental Games.
Ione Tierra Kythia. Since she was born, she’s been unwanted and emotionally abused by her entire family. her parents hated her, and had no use for her. Her aggressive sister was always picking on her and pushing her around. After many attempts of trying to get rid of Ione, her parents finally abandoned her in the woods miles away from their home when she was five. As she struggled to survive, Ione began to realise that she could control and find water wherever she went. When she was in danger, she could stop time with a snap of her nimble fingers, and conveniently escape. She grew up in the woods in which she was abandoned, teaching and training herself how to use her abilities. As she grew older, she discovered how powerful she truly was. Not only time and water, she could control nature and the earth that surrounded her. The older she grew, the gentler she became, learning the ways of the earth and how special mother nature really was with the variety of plants and animals that existed and flourished around her. When she heard about the elemental games, she didn’t even consider joining, not craving any of the wealth and honor that came with it. She felt perfectly content with her woods, but she began to notice the dark events that emerged, and how beneficial her powers could be to helping the people around her. The Elemental games are what steeled her to realization, that her responsibility for the earth she could control was much greater than she thought.
Cane Baren Wehar. Ever since he was born, he had lived in luxury and wealth, because of his honored family. his mother, was the leader of his tribe. He ate extravagant food, and lived in soft and colorful rooms. Ever since he could remember, he always had enough to eat, no work or chores to occupy himself with, and was always well rested. But he never wanted the wealth. He hated knowing that people around him were suffering as he sat prettily in a toy throne as a child. He vowed to change the world and help those in need with his uncanny powers and abilities to control any form of water. When he hears about the elemental games, he decides without hesitation that he will enter. He knew it was an opportunity to prove that he wasn’t lazy and spoiled, and how much he cared about the world. With the honor and wealth that came with the games, he would use it to help those around him. But the great need for his powers is rapidly heightened, for the danger levels grew and dark ages awaited ahead in the future of his world.
Gareth Evan Kaiser. Ever since his uncle died fighting in the war, he has been out on the streets, fending for himself and struggling to put a single meal on the table every day for his small family of three. Life wasn’t always easy, but Kaiser made do, teaching himself how to steal and fight, and enjoyed the violence of the streets, and was often the cause of many of the skirmishes that occurred in his small town. But when he heard of the Elemental Games, he knew that it was the perfect chance to restore his family’s wealth and honor.
Rowan Rhiannon-Ginevra Arnstein. Ever since she was a baby, she had the uncanny ability to move silently across floors, hit bulls eye targets with every weapon, and skillfully climb the smoothest walls without leaving a single trace. Taking her talent for granted, her mother raised her as a tool, forcing her to do bidding and demanding she do seemingly impossible tasks. Pushing her daughter to the limits was what seemed to be on her mind at all times. Rowan did not mind. In fact she thought her mother was doing it all for her own good, raising her to be a good future Queen. But when dark times came, the elemental games were to begin, her mother finally showed her true colors, and Rowan finally realized that her purpose was much, much greater than she thought.
So when all four of them are teamed together for the Elemental Games, they realise that maybe they have a lot more in common then they think. If they are to survive, they must realise that sometimes you just have to let go of the past.
