I know that I already have an alternate universe story but, this one is a little different and the idea just grabbed me. I had to write it. Anyway, it's a little strange a first but, bear with me, it gets better, I hope.

Alternate universes. We have all read the comics where a few from our world go in to an alternate universe and meet ourselves but, as the opposite gender. Most of us don't believe in the kind of stuff though. I know I didn't but, as it turns out in most things in life, there is a lot that we pass off as stories that are really, actually true and it takes you being thrown into that world, to actually believe that it is all true.
I woke up to the sound of my alarm beeping, telling me that another day of school was ahead of me. Luckily, it was the last school day of the year, the day that everyone did nothing except stand around and sign yearbooks. I sat up in my bed, and shut off the still beeping alarm clock. I stretched, feeling my muscles strain beneath my skin.
I got out of bed and went over to my closet, my outfit for the day already picked out from yesterday. I pulled on my bright blue skinny jeans and then a neon green shirt. I liked to stand out in a crowd. My mother thought I was crazy though, for wearing such bright colors together.
After I was done changing I headed out of my room and into the hall of my house. The first thing that greeted me was the sound of music, blown up loud over the sound of a hair dryer and the smell of cosmetics and hairspray. Sometimes it sucked living in a all girl house. My mother, and my three other sisters and I. It got pretty crazy some days.
I noticed that the bathroom door was closed. My two older sister probably both in there doing their makeup so, I decided to go eat breakfast. I skipped into the kitchen, where my little sister was eating a bowl of fruit loops.
“Good Morning!” I sang to her as I sat down and pulled a bowl over to me. She muttered something to her cereal that I didn't catch. She wasn't really a morning person.
After I was done eating, I went over to the bathroom again that thankfully empty. I put on my makeup to highlight my blue eyes then, brushed my long dirty blond hair until it flowed around my shoulders. At that time my mother was yelling at everyone to get in the car so I ran out, grabbed my purse and ran out the door and into the squished car.
I was the last to be dropped off at the High school, and I said goodbye to my mother as I hopped out. I skipped into the school where it were it already had a few kids sitting on the steps of the stairs or just hanging around. I spotted a few of my friends over on the bench where we usually met in the morning and skipped over to them.
“Good morning!” I sang to them as I approached. Many of them shook theirs heads at my happiness and one of my friends, Shannon, said, “It is way to early in the morning for you to be singing, Beth.” “Sorry. I'm just so excited for after school today!” I squealed. After school today, all my friends and I were going to the local fair that had come in last night.
“Me too but, you don't see me singing at the top of my lungs about it.” said one of my guy friends, Jacob. “Oh, I'm not singing at the top of my lungs but, if you want I can do that.” I said, before sucking in a big breath of air dramatic-ly. A couple of my friends put their hands to their ears, and many voices shouted out, “No!” One person, however had unrolled their sleeve, put their sleeve over their hand and smacked to my mouth.
I struggled for a bit as everyone uncovered their ears and laughed. I stomped my foot and stopped struggling as the person said, “If I let you go will you promise not to sing?” I nodded, since the sleeve would have muffled my words. The person slowly let go and I turned to see my best friend in the whole world, who also happened to be my worst enemy at sometimes.
Shelby. A short girl with brownish hair that just barley hit her shoulders. Her green blue eyes were hidden behind squares glasses that sat on her face. I wanted to hug her but, she hated hugging so I resisted. Me and her had met in the 7th grade, through our different groups of friends. We had originally hated each other at first but then, bonded over a surprising thing. She had had a dream where she had turned into a freaking hot guy named Seth with dark black hair, green eyes, and misunderstood. In her dream, this Seth had fallen in love with me and being the silly girl I am, I feel head over heels in love.
He wasn't real though, and most people hated the idea of him because he was emo, and sad, and angry all the time so, he wasn't brought up much but, still that is how me and Shelby became friends. We still flighted occasionally but, we were always good friends.
“Are you ready to go get your fortune told, later?” Shelby asked me, smiling. “Heck yes!” I shrieked, causing several heads to turn in our direction. I had always wanted to get my fortune told and my friends had promised to go with me to do it today at the fair. “We could always ditch this lame joint and go right now.” suggested one of my other friends, Bell. We all agreed with her and headed out to the cars. We piled into the different cars and headed off towards the fair. I was so excited that I just kept babbling, even though I knew no one was listening.
We finally got there and I jumped out of the car. It was a stander-ed fair, with rides and games and snacks and tents with cool stuff you can do. I was so excited that I jumped up and down. My friends laughed at my silliness as we walked into the fair. We went on a couple of rides, played some games, ate some food.
