I slow down as I reach a distance away from the edge of the packhouse clearing. I quickly shift back into human form, changing into some clothes hidden in the bushes. I am aching less but the pain is still there in certain spots, paired with dark bruises all over my body and face. I groan but I know it would be odd for me to not have bruises as I should not have Lycan healing capabilities.

As I enter the packhouse, the house is busy with everyone running around preparing for the party. I make my way to the staircase to my suite on the 3rd floor. As I reach the stairs, Alpha James mind links me.

'Destiny, are you home yet?'

'I just entered the packhouse, do you need something?'

'Do you think I could have a moment with you in the office, please? I need to discuss something with you.'

'Of course, I'll be right there.' I reply, deciding to go now instead of cleaning myself up before meeting him as I would need to travel up and down the packhouse.

I make my way to the office area of the packhouse at a slow pace to avoid any moment that will cause pain. The pain hasn't stopped, but it doesn't hurt as much when I move slowly. I soon reach the office area; I make my way to the end of the hallway to Alpha James' office double doors with his name on it.

I take a deep breath before knocking on the doors and waiting for a response. Soon, I hear Alpha James request for me to enter. I open the doors to find him sitting behind his desk going through some paperwork. He looks up at the sound of me stepping in, smiling. He raises an eyebrow and frowns at the sight of me limping and the bruises all over my face. He quickly gets up from his seat and rushes to my side.

'"Destiny, what happened?" He asks, worriedly.

"The usual with Ashton and his posse, just that this time they did damage to my face too. I could barely walk but I shifted in the forest before returning." He growls, he hates how his son treats me. He is the future alpha of the pack, he is meant to be protecting the pack members, not beat them up.

"Don't worry about it, I'm used to it and I will heal," I add on, in an attempt of calming him down. He stares at me in disbelief.

"You shouldn't be used to any of this! You should feel safe in your own pack, I really wish you would let me do something." I shake my head.

"I really don't want to cause more trouble." He frowns.

"Anyway, you called for me?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Yeah, I need to discuss a few things with you." I nod and he gestures to the couch area. I make my way to the long couch, he sits on the opposite seats.

"So as you know, it's Ashton's 17th birthday tomorrow and we will be celebrating tonight." I stay silent, hinting at him to get to the point.

"Luna Naomi wants me to try and convince you to join us tonight, but I really don't want to force you into anything you are uncomfortable with."

"I really don't think it's a good idea, especially with the beating I just took earlier by the birthday boy himself and I won't be welcomed by anyone else either way." He nods understandingly.
