"I do" Kate said, as she looked the love of her life in the eye.

"By the power vested in me, I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride" the minister officiated the wedding, and the guests cheered, as Kate and her husband kissed.

It was a warm summer's day on the beach, and the skies were beyond beautiful, as the setting sun added a breathtaking effect to the view. Family, friends and colleagues were all present at the wedding, and both Kate and Jake felt really happy to see distant relatives after a long time.

Jake and Kate met a few years after she graduated from college at her best friend's wedding. Kate was the maid of honour, and Jake happened to be a guest at the wedding. From the moment she saw him standing across the room, she knew there was more to him that met the eye. He had an aura that she had yet to place a finger on, she thought. After minutes of staring at him, their eyes locked, and Jake flashed his smile at Kate. Shortly after, he excused himself from the conversation he was having, and started walking towards her. Flushed, Kate turned around and headed in the opposite direction.

"No no no no no no no no no" she said to herself, as she tried to think of somewhere to hide.

"Excuse me, miss" Jake said, with a deep voice that naturally commanded authority.

Kate halted and turned around, feeling embarrassed "who? Me?" She asked, knowing full well he was talking to her.

"I'm Jake" he said, and put his hand out for a handshake.

"Kate" she replied, and shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you" Jake said, while raising Kate's hand for a peck "would you like to dance with me?"

"That's quite forward, don't you think?" Kate said with a little confidence, while straightening her back "if I refuse?"

"Well, you could do that. But I must warn you, I have a way of getting what I want"

"I see"

"It's really your choice, you know. We could do this the easy way or the hard way"

"The hard way?"

"Yes. You could either: a, agree to dance with me, or b, walk away. I'll get your cellphone number or even your address somehow from a guest, the bride or groom, who might I mention, is my cousin. Afterwards, I will call you and send flowers, chocolates, and whatever else women like to your address everyday till you agree to dance with me" he paused and took a sip of his champagne "once again, it's your choice. Either is fine by me. Now, I'll ask again. Would you like to dance with me?" He put out a hand, in anticipation of a positive response.

Kate stared, confused. She had never met a sweet, yet arrogant man, and she wasn't about to give in so easily "well, Jake." She folded her arms "I hate to burst your bubble, but no. I won't dance with you"

"Fair enough" Jake said "you made your choice"

Kate walked away, and Jake smiled "feisty" he said to himself, and walked back to where he came from.

It had been a week since wedding, and Kate couldn't seem to get Jake off her mind "all talk and no action" she said to herself, as she thought about the wedding while driving to the office. Since her graduation from college, and through her master's degree, she worked as an accountant in an accounting firm.

Kate parked her car at the office parking lot and picked up her bag from the passenger seat. She stepped out of the car, and carefully, but confidently walked into the office building, wearing her usual smile "good morning, Mr Smith" she greeted the receptionist as she walked by.
