Elaine was getting some vegetables in the market, she won't be going to the library today and decided to cook a homemade meal before the time she will go to the diner. Tom was recovering really fast which she is happy about but so was her feelings for him. Again, every night, he wakes up with a scream of 'No' or 'John' she has tried asking him to talk about the dreams but he never opens up and she decided to not force him only that she was getting really worried for his health.
A hand suddenly snatched away her bag of groceries and she turned to see the one person she doesn't want to see. She rolled her eyes before looking at him, "is that a trending thing for you now? To snatch away a lady's bag?"
"Lady? You are no lady Elaine. A girl who brought in a stranger to her home is no lady" Jasper said.
"Thank you for that clarification. Now give me back my bag."
"So it's true, you brought in a man into your home?" He gave a dry chuckle and shook his head "I can't believe you Elaine. Is that how much you want a man inside you that you have to pick up a stranger?"
"I don't blame you after all, everything about you is sex."
"Well yea, because I can't understand why you have to bring in a man into your house!"
"And how is that your freaking business Jasper? It's my house, I bring in whoever I want and I don't need your permission to do that!"
"Yes you do. How do you expect me to see you anymore when I know it's possible that a nobody has run his hand on your body. Have dirtied you" he looked at her with disgust.
Elaine laughed, "sorry to burst your bubble, you are not dating me. Maybe you did but not anymore."
"Listen to yourself Elaine. Every body in this town believes we are the perfect couple. They know we will compliment each other best. I let you be before because I believed you are just going through a phase and sooner than later, you will come back to your senses and know that we deserve each other and then we will get married. Only for Carol to meet me last night and tell me you brought in a man into your home."
"Why am I not surprised" she rolled her eyes "of course your girlfriend is going to be the one to come running to you to tell you. Well guess what? I don't care what you think, I don't care what the whole town thinks but one thing I'm going to tell you Jasper is that you are only going to marry me in your dreams. The sooner you realize that, the better for you" she took her bag from him forcefully and started walking home.
Jasper recovered from her shock and followed her, "Elaine, don't make me give up on you because if I do, you are really going to regret it. Let's make up now that I'm asking you. I can forgive you now no matter what you and your stranger has done. So don't take my forgiveness for granted, I won't be too forgiving the next time" he yelled as he tried to catch up with her.
Elaine stopped, turned and looked at him "who do you even think you are Jasper? Do I look like I need your forgiveness? Listen, I may have been crazy over you once but not anymore. Let me tell you, I have waken up and I will rather do all sort of things with my stranger than let you touch me in my life again."
"Really? Who is your stranger then? An absolutely nobody. You always brag about finding someone better than me so it's your stranger the so called one who is handsomer than me and richer?" He scoffed "please, the guy is a complete nobody. All he does is hide in your house, nobody has ever seen him apart from James Tucker and your mother. Carol said he is even afraid to step outside because nobody wants to see him or even look upon his face" he smiled "so baby you see, you will never find someone better. I'm all you got so you better not annoy me too much."
Elaine rolled her eyes "please, Carol will say all sort of nonsense in order to get back into your bed."
"Which is a solid proof that she is a woman that knows what she wants."
