Cheers rang through the Gryffindor common room when Harry and Cassandra held up the golden egg that they received from the dragon. Cassandra's smile was the biggest it had been in months. Even the paintings in the common room were cheering.

The Weasley Twins joked with the Potter Twins about losing an arm or a leg or both. Cassandra shook her head as she laughed. Harry was smiling. Everyone seemed happy. It was nice to have a distraction.

"Shush!" Seamus Finnigan called out. "Go on, what's the clue?"

Harry held the egg in his arms and asked, "Who wants me to open it?"

Cheers rang out once again.

There was silence as Harry placed his hand on top of the egg. He twisted it open and a loud screech was heard through the room. Everybody covered their ears and Harry closed the egg up.

"What the bloody hell was that?" Ron asked.

"Alright everyone, go back to your knitting." Fred said. "This is going to be uncomfortable enough without all you nosey sods listening in."

Ron walked up to Harry and Cassandra.

"I reckon you have to be barking mad to put your name in the Goblet of Fire." Ron said.

"Caught on have you? Took you long enough." Harry replied.

"I wasn't the only one who thought you'd done it." Ron said, gulping. "Everyone was saying it behind your back."

"Brilliant." Harry rolled his eyes. "That makes me feel loads better."

"At least I warned you about the dragons." Ron mumbled.

"Hagrid warned us about the dragons." Cassandra jutted in.

"No, no, I did. Remember?" Ron asked. "I told Hermione to tell you, that Seamus told me that Parvati told Dean that Hagrid was looking for you. Seamus never actually told me anything so it really was me all along. I thought we'd be alright, you know, after you figured that out."

"Who could possibly figure that out?" Harry asked. "That's completely mental."

"It is, isn't it?" Ron asked. "I suppose I was a bit distraught."

"Boys." Hermione said shaking her head.

Cassandra nodded in agreement.

It was now December and an announcement had been made that Hogwarts would host the Yule Ball, a tradition that goes along with the Triwizard Tournament. Cassandra was nervous because she was never really taught how to dance.

All of the champions had to go but could not go with another champion as their date. Cassandra didn't know who she would choose since she couldn't go with Cedric, seeing as both of them were champions.

Professor McGonagall told the fourth years that there will be a mandatory meeting about the Yule Ball in the great hall. Cassandra was unaware of what might happen at this mandatory meeting.

As Cassandra and her friends walked in, they noticed that all the tables had been removed and benches were now placed on either side of the room.

"The Yule Ball is being held this Sunday." Professor McGonagall said. "This dance represents our champions. The champions and their dates will initiate the first dance. Therefore the Yule Ball is first and foremost, a dance. I am joined by Mr. Dawson today and we are going to be teaching you how to dance properly so you're not a bubbling band of buffoons. Any volunteers?"

Nobody raised their hand.

"Ronald Weasley." Professor McGonagall called.

"Me?" Ron points to himself.

"Yes you, come on. Now put your hand on my waist."

"What?" Ron asked with a nervous face as if she just asked him to strip down to his underwear in front of the whole school.

"Hand. Waist." McGonagall said, putting Ron's hand on her waist.

They start to dance and Cassandra could barely contain her laughter. She watched in amusement.

"I will now be pairing you all up with someone else, maybe someone in a different house." Mr. Dawson said. "Hermione, you will be paired with Blaise. Ron with Lavender Brown. Harry with Parvati. Cassandra with Draco."

Cassandra rolled her eyes as Draco Malfoy came towards her. He put her hand on her waist and Cassandra shuddered.

"Something wrong, sweetheart?" Draco asked, knowing she shuddered at his touch.

"Don't call me sweetheart." Cassandra said. "Please move your hand higher."

"I think I'll keep it right where it's at." Draco smirked.

"Malfoy." Cassandra gritted out.

"Snape or should I say Potter?" Draco mused.

"I wish I wasn't dancing with you."

"You love dancing with me darling."

"Stop calling me names."

"Why? Does it make you feel something?" Draco raised a brow.

Cassandra looked stunned.

"No," She said a little too quickly. "Never ever will I feel something towards you."

"If you say so." Draco smirked.

"Stop playing mind games with me."

"Or what?"

Cassandra stayed quiet and focused on her feet. Draco was amused at the fact that he made Cassandra Snape shut up.

Cassandra was in the library studying when a voice called out to her.

"Cassandra!" The voice whispered.

"Hey!" Cassandra exclaimed, giving the person a tight hug.

"I heard you can't go with Cedric to the dance." The person began saying. "So I was wondering if you would like to go to the Yule Ball with me?"

"Oh I'd love to!" Cassandra smiled.

"Okay great!" He smiled back. "Remember, just as friends."

"I think you need to remember that." Cassandra giggled.

"Sure I do," he teased. "Cedric is a lucky guy."

The person walked off and Cassandra smiled. She continued to study but couldn't keep her mind off of the interaction.
