New year, new semester, new faces, new voices.
Not a tinge of familiarity, but even still my eyes tiredly searched for that chubby face of my friend whom I call Jimin.
A great start for my junior high huh.
I sighed, as I made way to my assigned seat, thinking how did everyone already form groups.
Well that's always the case, I'm always left out. No wonder Jimin is the only one I was able to befriend in all two years of my high school.
My loneliness sank in deeper, making my shoulders slouch and head slide onto the table.
First day of junior high, and I already want to go home.
I hadn't noticed the sudden silence in the class, until I felt a tap.
I disdainfully looked up to see a boy, whom I felt like I had seen before, towering over my being.
"Uhh.." I let out looking around to see all pairs of eyes on the two of us.
"It's my seat." The boy let out, fixing the strap of his bag that was half slung around his shoulder.
I furrowed my brows.
Where have I seen him?
He pursed his lips a bit, before continuing.
"Kim taehyung, roll no. 23", as he indicated the marked table.
My eyes wandered around a bit, to see the curious and some annoyed glimpses of others.
"A..aah..I see, I thought this was for 24" I nodded, and quickly packed up to shift to the preceding seat.
And just like a storm had settled, after a few murmurs, the normal uproar of the class was back, and I let out a sigh of relief.
Ah yes, Kim taehyung. Isn't he the school topper-
My thoughts were cut off by a cheerful voice.
"Hi, Taehyung, I'm Baek Yuna. Let's have a fun year, okay?"
-and the school's heartthrob.
The boy simply nodded, with a formal smile, making the girl giggle.
And just as she was going back to her seat, she didn't forget to throw me the ugliest stare I'd ever gotten.
Tch, this is going to be a tough year.
