Mondays.... ugh how I hate them, well hate is such a strong word but I think it's okay at this point. " Jay it's almost 7, if you don't start preparing for school you'll be late and I am not ready to have a chat with your Class teacher again... she gets on my nerves" shouted Kate, my sis.
Ever since Mum left for the army 4 years ago, life hasn't been the same, I know Kate is doing her best to manage things over here but the feeling of emptiness is still present. To avoid further scolding, I quickly got up, took my bath and listened  to some music whiles selecting my attire for the day. It's been a while since I took my things to the laundry sooo I don't really have much to wear and to save time I just put on an oversized flannel, some ripped jeans and a pair of Nike Air Force sneakers. After getting my outfit , I packed my books into my bag, slung it at back, took my phone and ran down the stairs to meet my sis.
Surprisingly, I managed to get to school 30 mins right before class, this gave me enough time to complete my history assignment that I ignored because I didn't really get along with the teacher, moreover he doesn't really come to class. This Monday actually took a turn for the worst. As soon as lessons begun this feeling of uneasiness took over me, I felt as though something bad was going to happen but I just kicked that thought out of my mind and focused on lessons.
After the first break, the secretary of the Principal walked up to me and told me that someone was looking for me, with a surprised face I turned to follow Ms. Angels all the way to the Principals office. On my way, I begun to think of what might be the problem that a hidden person like me would be called to the principal's office.
To uttermost surprise right in front of me stood my sister and she didn't really look like her normal self, all the joy seemed to have been drained from her and the sparkle that usually were in her eyes seemed to have dimmed. "Have a seat you two "  said Mr. Simpson, " Jay, your sister has something she needs to tell you " he added. I looked at my sister waiting to hear what she had for me but she didn't really say anything, it was as though she was muttering something, "is what she has to say extremely difficult to bring out and why" I asked myself. After a short while of awkward silence she exhaled loudly and said " I don't really know how to say this in a more pleasant manner but this has to do with our mum" upon saying this she burst into tears.
I have never seen her like this before. I know her to be a really strong and bold young lady so seeing her like this out me into deep thought and then it hit me, " Is mum dead?" all Kate could do was look at me and nod. I was stunned, the only feeling I felt was sheer pain. Memories begun to flood my mind, tears begun to build up in my eyes and gushed out like running water. "She promised to come back, she said she'll never leave, she said... she said.... whyy... whyyy!!! Why is this happening to us?" I screamed. I couldn't stay in the office any longer so I run out of the school leaving my sister and my backpack in school. I dont know where I am going to but all I know is that I want to be far away from civilization, far away from everything and everyone. Every turn I took reminded me of the few memories of my mother  that I held on closely to.
