waking you up with kisses

The sun shined in her eyes as soon as she opened them. It was still early in the morning; she found that it was only a little after seven-fifteen when she glanced at the clock on the table by her side of the bed.

With a long sigh, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes and began to contemplate what to do next. Your alarm was bound to go off in the next twenty minutes. You both had only forty minutes till you had to be out the door and out of the warmth and coziness your shared bed provides.

But at the same time, when she rolled over in bed and saw your face, she found that it was difficult to resist the growing urge to touch your face. A smile crept up on her lips, eyes sparkling for a moment when she noticed that you were smiling in your sleep. Her heart felt warm, swelling in her chest as she began to think about how much you really mean to her and how much she wishes she could spend the day with you in her arms.

But you both had a busy day ahead. Things that you could not miss. Obligations you couldn't get out of; even if she really wished that you both could.

She found herself reaching up to brush a lock of hair behind your ear. She caressed your soft cheek and you stirred a little, only to lay your other cheek on the soft pillow instead of where it previously laid on your forearm.

She couldn't resist giving your cheek a kiss. Leaning in, lips lingering for a moment, she thought about pulling away and going to get ready for the day ahead. But she just found herself wanting to shower you with love and kisses instead.

She kissed your cheek again, this time a little lower than the last spot, and you smiled yet again in your sleep. She chuckled and kissed her way to your lips, where she kissed the corners of your lips, hoping that your eyes would open and you'd pull her in for a loving kiss; one she craved very much.

But you stayed asleep. Your eyes were still closed, breathing still steady. She sighed and scooted closer to you. She put her hand on your shoulder and trailed her lips to your jawline and planted a few soft kisses there. She heard you gasp a little, startled by the sudden yet gentle brush of her lips.

She smiled against your skin and moved back up to kiss your chin. "Good morning, lovely. It's time to wake up."

You opened your eyes and looked at the time on your phone, giving her a sad face when you realized how early it was.

"Mean. I still have five minutes before my alarm goes off." You pouted and she giggled adorably, laying a few pecks to your lips, hoping that the pout would fade, which it did.

"That's alright though. Gives me five minutes to cherish you and shower you with lots of love and kisses." She smiled and the light in her eyes made you smile along with her.

She started to kiss down your jaw, to your collarbone, and back to your lips. She planned on pulling you in for a loving kiss, hoping that you'd melt into her lips the way you always do.

But the annoying sound of your alarm ruined her plan just as her lips touched yours.

"Not already." She whined and felt you loop your arms around her neck.

"Gotta get ready for the day. Early bird gets the worm, right?"

This time, she was the one pouting, and it was you happily kissing it away.

"We'll spend tonight together."

She nodded and kissed your forehead before getting up. "Sounds good to me. Now I'm excited to get home!"

You laughed as she wrapped her arms around you and walked with you to the bathroom so you could brush your teeth together; wanting to cherish every minute she gets to spend with you.
