LISA'S POV

I was standing in front of the last grave I intended to visit while I was here. The grass was well kept and there were fresh flowers on top of the gravestone. He was the youngest of the victims. Like the other graves I visited, the guilt was almost unbearable as I stood here before him and finally asked for forgiveness.

"I'm sorry. I know it doesn't mean much but I never intended for this to happen. I hope you rest in peace..."

I left his grave once I've said everything I needed to say. Finally having the opportunity to face them and apologize had lifted some of the weight off of my shoulders. I knew I still had to make up for what I had done, but somehow I felt lighter.

Before heading to the airport, I visited Sam's grave one last time and brought her sunflowers, her favorite. I told her I would try to visit again soon and that I'd think of her often.

I left and headed to the airport to catch my flight bound to South Korea. After checking in and going through customs, I went to the bar to grab a drink while waiting. I ordered a double shot of whiskey and downed the entire thing. It had been an incredibly long couple of days and emotional exhaustion was catching up to me. I got a stick of cigarette from my bag and lit it while signaling to the bartender for a refill.

After some time, there was an announcement that my flight was finally boarding so I paid for my bill and went to the assigned gate. I arrived just in time for the first class passengers to board and was immediately ushered to my seat. Sleep took hold of me as soon as the plane took off.

I woke up feeling more exhausted as the plane came to a stop. I stretched my arms over my head before collecting my stuff and exiting. While waiting for my luggage, I took out my phone from my bag and turned it on. I was a bit surprised by the sudden influx of messages that came in but I thought it was to be expected since I kept my phone off the entire time I was in Thailand.

(Jisoo) Why haven't you been coming to school? Are you sick?

(Jennie) You can borrow my notes if you need it. I hope you're okay.

(Chaeyoung) Please text us if you get this. We're really worried about you.

(Jisoo) I know you said you needed time but please can you at least tell us if you're okay?

(Jennie) We went to the loft 'cause we wanted to check if you were sick but I guess you weren't there. Wherever you are, I hope you're safe.

(Chaeyoung) I hope you come back soon. We miss you.

(Jennie) Our professors are asking about you. We made up a random excuse but that's not going to hold them off any longer. I hope you can tell us when you're coming back at least.

There were a lot more messages that came in but I would have to go through them later because I caught sight of my luggage on the conveyor belt. I put my phone back in my bag and grabbed my luggage before going through immigration and customs. Not long after, I left the airport and went to my loft.

As soon as I got home, I read through all my messages. I knew I needed to reply to the girls to ease their worries so I sent a message through our group chat: I'm okay. I'm sorry for worrying you guys. I'll be back to school tomorrow.

I got ready for bed and the moment my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep.
