The hotel room was gorgeous, exactly what Magnus had hoped. The walls had a light blue color. The double Bed was placed in the middle of the room; the blanket had a dark blue almost black color with tiny yellow stars on it. On each side of the bed, there was big windows with an ocean view. There was a mirror on the wall abeam the door. Magnus was standing in the entrance looking at his own reflection in the mirror. His dark skin tone had darkened in the hot sun, and his dark brown hair had almost gone blond. He moved his gaze up to his face. He looked happy, much happier than usual. His yellow cat eyes brighter, his mouth crooked into a tiny smile and his cheeks flushed. "Are you going to admire yourselves in the mirror all day?" Magnus turned to see the most beautiful creature in the whole world sitting on the bed. Alexander.
He was smiling over at Magnus. His blue eyes shining like a thousand stars, mouth smiling with all teeth and his black hair wild and unbrushed. Magnus had always had a thing for blue eyes, but there was something different about Alexander. His body covered in (what most humans would think was tattoos) marks. They was all over his arms, legs and chest. Shadowhunters had those marks, they made them stronger, faster, made them heal, see clear in the dark and so much more. Magnus walked toward the boy at the bed.
As he was standing in front of Alexander, he bent down and kissed him on the forehead, then on his nose and then on his lips. Alexander made a surprised noise, and kissed him back. Alexander dragged Magnus down on the bed. Magnus made a little scream but Alexander's lips silenced him. They were lying there just kissing for a few minutes. It was Alexander who broke off. "Don't you want to see the city? We are leaving tomorrow," Alexander said looking down at Magnus with a smile. Alexander rolled over at the side. Magnus tumbled over so he could look Alexander in the eyes. "If that is what you want Alec" he said, Alec smiled to him as he got out of bed.
Alec got undressed and was reaching for his sweater when Magnus broke the silence "Alec, oh for god's sake. We have to get you some new clothes. You can't go around in that same sweater every day." Alec looked over at his boyfriend with an asking glance, and then down at his sweater. "I don't only use this sweater!" he said and flushed. Magnus sent him a blow kiss and said, "I will buy you some new clothes, and you shall come with me and try". "All right" Alec said with a grin "but no leather pants or silky blouses" "ohh... you would have looked so handsome in that," Magnus said with an ironic smile. "But a sparkly skirt with some high heels will suit you". Alec laughed, and went into the bathroom. He looked out of the half-closed door "I am going to take a shower, and when you hear the water running you will come and join me". He shut the door.
Magnus got to his feet and begun to take of his clothes. He could so clearly remember the first day he met Alec. It was at one of his own parties. Alec had come with three other Shadowhunters and one particularly uncharming human boy . Alec was looking at the floor while Magnus spoke with the other shadowhunters. He was so beautiful there he was standing, his beautiful blue eyes chinning in the dark, and then he laughed at one of his jokes. That must have been the moment, Magnus thought, the day he fell in love whit Alec. He opened the bathroom door and got into the shower. The streets were full of people. Alec and Magnus were walking side by side toward the shops and markets. The air was full of salt and Magnus could feel the heat burn his skin. It didn't seem to bother Alec at all. Maybe it was some mark for that too. Magnus didn't quite understand the way shadowhunters used the runed marks to help themselves. Neither look as strong as Alec did and still be so vulnerable. Alec pinched Magnus in the arm. "What was that for?" Magnus asked angrily "have you even heard what I have been saying?" he sounded hurt. "No, for god's sake Alec, I was just thinking. Was it something important?" "Not anymore" Alec said and walked away. "Alec?" Magnus said, but he didn't respond. Magnus almost yelled "Alec!" but he didn't react on that either. "Alexander Gideon Lightwood!" he yelled. He saw Alec stiffen. Many people looked at Magnus as he yelled, but he didn't care. Alec turned toward Magnus "don't call me that" he said, now standing right in front of Magnus "it's your name," Magnus said but regretted it when he saw his boyfriends face. "I'm sorry," Magnus said, "it's all right" Alec said and sounded embarrassed "maybe I over reacted... a little" at that Magnus laughed, "Ok, what were you telling me?" he asked, "it can wait" Alec said and looked up at Magnus and kissed him, not on the mouth but on the chin. "The shop is in there," Magnus said flushed and pointed. They went into the shop.
It was a small room with clothes all over. There was like walking into a rainbow Magnus thought (not that he had ever done it), different colors and fabric all over the place. Magnus glanced down at Alec, he was watching the place like it was one of the most beautiful he had ever seen. Magnus went over to one of the clothes driers, found a vest, different shirts and some pants, not those jeans full of holes. He dragged Alec to the dressing room. They bought all of the clothes Magnus found to him. After a long walk in the city and a little rest at the hotel, they now found themselves at the temple Wat Arun. Magnus told Alec about the temple. That Wat Arun was thai and meant temple of dawn. It had always been the most remembered scene of Bangkok's skyline for ages.
Magnus and Alec sat silent on the stairs up to the temple and watched the sunset. The sun reflected in the Chao Phraya River. Most of the people were gone from the streets. The streetlights gave a yellow glow to the pavement and in the trees; the grasshoppers made a beautiful squiring noise.
Alec sighed, which made Magnus look at him. "Are you all right?" Magnus asked worriedly "I just wondered..." Alec answered "no, it was nothing special" he continued. "What? What is it?" Magnus said as he stumbled to his feet, "it's just that I thought about... don't look so scared! It's nothing wrong," Alec said with a shy laugh. "I thought about you, about us. How scared I was in the start to show my parents... about how I felt, and what I felt... liked boys not girls stuff. The way people have started looking at me differently; not listening to me, thinking what I have is a disease. Once dad asked me what I thought had turned me gay." Magnus looked sadly at Alec. "And the way I treated you, because I was scared. Scared for all that could happen. I am so sorry for that" Alec did not look at Magnus. "It's nothing to be sorry for, Alexan... Alec" Magnus said. "Yes, it is" Alec said, his voice cracked. "Why?" Magnus asked, "Because I love you" Alec almost whispered the words. Magnus had stiffened at the words, those words he always had wanted to hear. "And I hate hurting the people I love" Alec looked up at Magnus now. "Alec... did you just say that you loved me?" Magnus asked surprised "Yes, I said it earlier today as well, but you didn't hear me." "Oh. I am so sorry. God, I love you too Alexander" Magnus said as he kissed Alec on the mouth. Then they walked smiling into the shadows together.
