( December '94 )
The Yule Ball was soon approaching and Cassandra was stressing. She was worried her dance moves weren't good enough and she wanted to set an example for the rest of her class. Cassandra wanted to take the Yule Ball seriously. It meant a lot to her image. She needed something to redeem her after being looked down for supposedly entering herself into the tournament.
Cassandra, Hermione, and Blair already got their dresses and were super excited about wearing them. Blair was pretty shocked once she heard who Cassandra was going to the Yule Ball with. Cassandra had to explain that it was just as friends since she couldn't go with Cedric.
"You know Cassandra, I wouldn't be cool with Cedric taking Cho Chang to the Yule Ball." Blair said one day as the trio was walking to the courtyard.
"Everybody knows that Cho is madly in love with Cedric." Hermione added.
"I trust him." Cassandra said but she couldn't help but overthink about it.
"I trust him but I don't trust her." Blair replied.
"Cedric wouldn't do anything to hurt me." Cassandra smiled.
"That's what everybody says when they're madly in love." Blair responded, bluntly.

Cassandra knew tonight was going to change her life. It would be the first time she would ever be going to a ball. It was good for her image as well. She didn't have the best reputation at the moment and that's something she so desperately needed to fix.
Hermione was supposed to curl Cassandra's hair and put it in a half-up half-down hairstyle. Cassandra was going to curl Hermione's hair as well. Cassandra was nervous due to her date. She was also worried about Cho Chang being with Cedric but she knew that Cedric wouldn't do anything to hurt her.
"Cassandra I think we ought to start working on your hair, it's starting to get late." Hermione called from the balcony.
Cassandra got up from the couch and walked into her dorm room. She sat down on the chair and waited for Hermione to start on her hair. Hermione got out the curler and started curling Cassandra's hair.
"Are you excited Cassie?" Hermione asked.
"I'm not sure if I'm being honest." Cassandra responded. "A lot is counting on tonight. My reputation is horrible right now and I can't deal with making it worse."
"It's going to be okay, I have faith in you." Hermione said. "Plus your date? He'll make sure nothing bad happens to ruin it for you."
"You always seem to find the right words to say Hermione." Cassandra said.
"I try my best."

Cassandra walked down the stairs near the great hall. She felt everyone's eyes on her. Her black hair perfectly contrasted her light green dress that matched her eyes. The sleeves and white flowers on her dress stood out perfectly to the crowd.
At the bottom of the staircase was Blaise Zabini, Cassandra's date. She walked down and interlinked his arm with hers.
"You look lovely tonight, Ms. Snape." Blaise whispered.
"It's Ms. Potter now, Blaise." Cassandra reminded.
"Oh right. Well in that case, you look wonderful tonight, Ms. Potter."
"As do you, Mr. Zabini."
Blaise and Cassandra were lifelong friends, only seeing each other once every couple of years.
"Mr. Zabini, Ms. Potter, you need to line up with the rest of the champions." Professor McGonagall said.
"What? Why?" Cassandra asked.
"Because you all have a dance to perform. I thought Mr. Diggory informed you of that."
"Oh, he didn't."
"I apologize but you need to go line up with them over there. We will be announcing you all soon."
Cassandra and Blaise took their place behind Harry and Parvati.
"We want to introduce our champions of the Triwizard Tournament." A voice said over the speakers. "First, we have Viktor Krum and Hermione Granger."
Hermione and Viktor walked into the great hall and were met with applause. Hermione looked stunning. She was wearing a periwinkle dress and it fit her like a glove.
"Next, Fleur Delacour and Roger Davies."
Fleur also looked stunning. Her dress made her look a little pale but she still looked stunning. Roger Davies looked a little nervous as he walked beside her.
"Up next, Cedric Diggory and Cho Chang."
Cassandra didn't like the way Cho smiled at Cassandra before she walked into the great hall. Cedric didn't seem to be paying much attention to Cho and just focused on keeping one foot in front of the other. He looked very handsome in his suit and Cassandra was just about drooling for him.
"Harry Potter and Parvati Patil."
Parvati was wearing a beautiful pink lehenga and Harry admired her in it. Cassandra thought Harry looked like a dork compared to Parvati. Cassandra's stomach twisted into knots because she knew she was up next.
"Finally, Cassandra Potter and Blaise Zabini."
Cassandra and Blaise started walking into the great hall. She felt all eyes on her and her ears starting getting hot. Her ears always got hot when she was embarrassed.
Once they caught up with the rest of the champions, they began their dance. Cassandra and Blaise swayed to the music, perfectly in rhythm with everyone else. Cassandra felt her nerves start to go away as the dance ended.
Cassandra found Cedric at the punch table and walked up to him.
"You look so beautiful tonight Cassandra." Cedric smiled.
"Thank you my love." Cassandra kissed him on his cheek. "You look wonderful tonight."
"May I take this dance?" Cedric asked, bowing.
"Yes of course sir."
Before the end of the night, Cassandra witnessed the horrible fight between Ron and Hermione. Cassandra got so upset with Ron and followed Hermione up to their dorm, making sure she was okay.
