Big news

It was the day of the horse sale. I was to ride all the horses in the ring. I was a little nervous, there were big buyers coming from all over to see maybe even buy horses Broken by A M Ison.

The sales were about to start. I walked over to the window to check my reflection, my wrangler Q-baby's were nicely worn and my boots were polished and my dark purple button down shirt was tucked in with all the buttons lining up with my fly. My plain brown belt was decorated by one of my winning bucked and my quarts acubra bronc sat cleanly on my head.

I fussed over my hair nervously. Brooks came up behind me and started kissing my neck from behind.
"You will be fine, these horses are all amazing."
I turned around at looked him in the eye, "you really think so?"
He nodded. I felt my conference rise a little as I left books in the stands and went to tack up the horses. The first one out would be the dapple grey mare. She was my favourite out of all the breakers.
The Auctioneer called out and I rode in. We rode circles in all gates, with and with out reins, we did bowing and counting. I was so proud. My confidence boosted as the biding went up.

The final bit was for $18,000. I giggled in excitement as I rode out.
As I rode, all those horses went for good money. I was so happy and I could see by the look on johns face, that he was too.
After all the horses were gone I met up with John and Brooks, they were having a conversation . I snuck in and planted a kiss on Brooks lips. I turned a round and faced John, Brooks hugging me from behind.
"You certainly are one luck man, Mr Brooks," he said smiling, "your work is amazing, thank you Audrey."
"Thank you John, I was glad to help," I said with a smile and a nod.
"Well come with he and I will write you the check for your work."
"Ok," I said with a smile. I turned and faced Brooks, "I'll catch up with you later." He nodded and tipped his hat to John before walking in the direction of a group of guys.
John and I kept light conversation on the way back to the horse truck.
"And here is your check," he said handing the piece of paper over.
I looked at the numbers written, "I can't take this much, it's just, to much."
"No I insist, you did an amazing job and we made a killing, I will decently be advertising you miss Ison. Plus the cut is only 40%, so go and buy your self something nice," he said. I was in shock, "I'll be off now, you have a nice day Miss Audrey," and he tipped his hat and left.

I was beyond overwhelmed with my work and the check in my hand. I tucked the check into my top pocket and went to find Brooks.

I found him over by my truck.
"Hey gorgeous," he said with a smirk.
I got on my tippy toes and pecked him on the lips, "hey handsome."
"Is that all I am to? Just A handsome piece of meat?" He questioned raising an eye brow.
With my own smirk,I answered back, "yep thats all you are, my handsome piece of meat," them I cracked it, I couldn't hold my laughter in.
"Come here you," he said and I ran, cackling as I went. We got weird looks from everyone as we ran. I mean who wouldn't. A tall handsome man was chasing a short sexy girl that was cackling like a mad woman. We laughed all day.

We got home and we walked in the house hand in hand. We walked passed Joe and Sarah.
"Hey kids, come and take a seat," said Joe patting the table chair next to him.
We nodded and took a seat.
"Now we know, you to have been working hard since the accident, but," Sarah started.
"I'm going to go live with Sarah for a while, till I'm all good," finished Joe.
"So that means for the farm?" I asked.
"Um, I'm going to the bank today and get it all turned over to you name, for a while." Said Joe to me.
I was gobbed smacked. He was practically handing the 10 000 acer property to an almost 19 year old.
"Wha-a but I've got to go the school in a few months , I-I can't!" I stressed.
"It's ok, you are a smart girl you will sought this thing out," he said with a reassuring smile.
I just nodded and left the table. Brooks followed me.
I sat on by bed with my hands in my hand. Brooks sat down next to me making relaxing circles on my back.
"I start school in a few months, 7 years of full time study. How am I suppose to juggle hay. As well as run a cattle property from 3 hours away!"

"Audrey. Aubrey baby look at me," he said lifting my face to his, "we will figure something out."
I was in shock, "We?"
"Yes, we will do this together."
My face lot up, "God I love you," and I kissed him.
