Alex

I walk into the locker room on Friday night. I have my fingers crossed that Lauren's in the crowd tonight. Chris walks over to me and gives me a look.

"I just want you to know that tonight's the night you prove yourself to every single person on this football team, you're new and we've never had anyone move from Chicago to here and make it this far without running back to the city," Chris tells me

"I promise I'm going to try my best," I reply

"That's all that matters," Chris says walking away

Soon enough it's time to run out and start the game. (I'm not going to go into too much detail about the game.) When we run out, I spot Lauren on the front row of the bleachers. I catch her smiling at me, I shoot her a smirk as the football gets thrown at me.

Lauren

The game ended and we won. I walk onto the field and make it to the 50-yard line before Alex runs over to me and wraps me in his arms and picks me up off the ground.

"Good job tonight." I complement

"Thanks, baby girl," Alex replies

"I'm sorry what did you just call me?" I ask

"It just kinda came out." Alex winces

I let out a small laugh and reach up to give him a kiss on the cheek.

"It's fine, nobody's ever called me that before," I tell him

Alex places his hands on my waist and leans his head down to my ear.

"Well, maybe we need to change that." Alex whispers

I jump away and look at him.

"Can you drive me home?" I ask

"Yeah, sorry about what just happened," Alex says and goes to change
