My alarm clock buzzed. It read "6:30 am" I jumped out of my bed and raced to my closet. I picked out a pink crop top and some cut offs. I turn all my jeans into cut offs because I think it looks cute.
I quickly grab my keys and run to my car. I know my parents won't care; they know I always go whale watching at this time. When I arrive to Whakikio coast, the best spot for whale watching, I park my car by some bushes and look for the trail I made. Technically I'm not supposed to be on this beach but do I care? No. I'd do anything for whales. Whales are my life, and have been since I was two, fourteen years ago, when I always carried around my Hoover Whale stuffed animal with me.
As im walking through the bushes I cut my self in some thorns. Nothing whale saliva can't heal! My parents, who are doctors claim that whale saliva has bacteria, but I don't want to hear it. It keeps my connection with the whales.
All my parents do is judge me about whales "I'm too obsessed" "That's all I focus on." Well maybe because I can only trust whales? I can tell them my secerets and about my crush and they listen. My kayak is still where I left it, under a fallen log. I lift it off the ground and carry it to the beach.
The magenta sunrise is beautiful. The ocean looks beautiful. I look beautiful. The whales I have yet to see are beautiful. Everything's beautiful. There's hardly any waves, so I think I can paddle out easily.
I step into the wet sand. The cold, brackish water makes its way to my purple colored toes. I giggle because the chilliness of the water supprised me. But the water temperature doesn't matter, it's my love for the whales that does.
I can already see Tolly swimming over. She's one of my best friends
"Hi Tolly!" I yell. I almost forgot I brought her some fresh trout from the nearby pond. I stabbed them so they'd be easy for her to catch. I toss the fish to her and she swims closer. She gobbles up the fish in the blink of an eye. I hear her chirp with joy. A few seconds later, Viola and Bhendi swim over. I can tell it's them because Viola has a white stripe down her back, and Bhendi looks sort of tye dye, skin swirled with black and blue. Everyone is Jelouse of Bhendi. All the whales I have talked to said so. They want her beauty.
I throw some more trout in for Viola and Bhendi. While they eat, I tell them about school. I've been doing very well, and I just had my midterms. When I'm in the middle of telling them about my midterms, the most beautiful man I have ever seen caught my eye.He emerged out of the water. His skin was a deep black, and he had beautiful eyes. He was well built, from his nose to his tail. He had a very strong tail.
"Girls, who is HE!?" I asked. They said his name is Tex. He just moved to Whakikio from Muhalh, a few coves over.
He breaches a few times, I can tell to try to catch my attention, which, of course, he did. He's so handsome. Better looking than everyone I've ever met.
All of a sudden, a nasty, beautiful thought came to my mind. No human comes to Whakikio except for me, so it won't be a problem.
I take off my top, and cut offs and slip into the water. It feels chilly against my pale body. Tex swims closer to me. I strip myself completely and swim to him. We are swimming towards eachother. My hand meets his fin, and we touch.
I climb on top of his back and stroke his dorsal fin. His blowhole says no but his fin says yes. I see a smile spread on his face.
