Let us delight in the atmosphere
Preparations, things to do
Party invites, greetings too
Presents coming into mind
Of gifts we wish to send, or find
Festive paper, tinsel strings
Fairy lights and sparkling things
Carol's playing in the streets
Help make up our Christmas treats
Children smile so sweetly so
Hoping for some falls of snow
The magical scenes of falling flakes
Like the icing on our Christmas cakes
The joining of hearts from everywhere
A time to show how much we care
And as Christmas trees glow in the night
Through people's windows, tall and bright
We think of those who live alone
And hope they won't be on their own
That love will come in ample form
To share this time and keep them warm
The ending of another year
May bring a smile or spring a tear
But we still rejoice, for we have good reason
With the atmosphere of the Christmas season
