Abnormal Acquaintances: Chapter 2

Everything became quiet when he stepped in the room. I glanced up and saw him. He didn't say a word.

"Attention students. there will be a new student joining us this year. What is your name?" Mrs.Sanders said.

"It's James." He said with comfort.

"Well, you can take a seat anywhere you'd like. I see there are some empty ones." Mrs.Sanders said.

He walked to a desk near the window. He sat down and waited for instruction. I looked away the moment he sat down. I noticed that none of the girls in my class couldn't turn their heads away. I bet his having a hard time with all this especially on the first day of school. Well, He doesn't have to worry about me because I will be out of his way.

"Ok class, let's start." Mrs.Sanders said which grabbed my attention right away.

"We will be starting the year off with some literature. We will be reading everything from Mystery/Thriller, Horror to Romance and Fantasy. No one should complain." Mrs.Sanders started off.

"We are going to start with the introduction of literature and how it progressed. You may want to take notes on this because there is a possibility there will be a test a week from today."

After that, she started writing bullet points on th board. I got out my notebook and pen and started writing everything down that was on the board and everything she mentioned. I wrote everything possible because I didn't want to fail the first test of the year.

Fifty minutes went by. Wow, that went by fast! The bell rung.

"Well class we will continue this tomorrow." Mrs.Sanders said.

Some people just dashed out the door like they were late for something. I didn't really care. I got all my things and headed out the door and went to my locker. I have a break of twenty minutes. I grabbed my copy of Inkheart and went out to the picnic tables. I noticed that the girls were still following him from a distance. They were following him because they thought he was the hottest guy in school. He is decent looking but I am not going to drool over him.

I continue walking until I stop at the picnic table that I sat on earlier this morning. I sat down and started reading where I left off from last night..

I got so into it that I forgot my surroundings. I hear someone mumble something and I look up. It was James.

"Is that a good book?" James said very politely

"Yes it is." I replied back.

"Do you mind if I sit?" He asked.

"Sure but my break is only twenty minutes." I said.

I saw his eyes and there this beautiful green. I had to look away or he would get suspicious.

"Is something wrong?" He asked with a curious face.

"No, why would you ask that?" I said.

"You looked at me strange, it was frightening." He replyied.

"Oh" I said with a low voice. I was really embarrassed that I kept my head down. I didn't even dare looking up. I forced my head and the first thing I saw at a distance was a girl that I have never seen before giving me this death glare. I looked at my watch. I had ten minutes left. I just got up and started walking towards the building.

"Can you at least say goodbye before you walk away from people." A voice that surprised me. I turned and realized that he was still there.

"I am sorry but I gotta go, it was nice meeting you." I speed-walked.

"What's your name?" was the last thing I heard in the distance. I decided to ignore him and keep on walking. I am going to try to avoid him as much as possible.

After my Biology class, which was fast-paced, I needed to take a breather. I didn't want to go out because I might spot him there. I decided to go to the library, maybe I will finish Inkheart. So I am walking to the library and this girl blocks my path and gives me this look like she is about to on a rampage.

"Um, excuse me." I said trying to be nice.

"Where do you think you're going?" She asked with this attitude on her face and in her words.

"I'm going to the library." I said plainly.

"Oh, I thought you were going to see James again." She said with this weird look in her eyes.

"Why would you think that? I'm not attracted to him." I said with a little bit of anger.

"It didn't look like that outside." She said with an attitude still on her face.

Oh, she was the girl that gave me the death glare. Well I'm just going to deal with her.

"Just one thing: He will be mine! No one can take that away from me! NO ONE!" She screamed at the top of her lungs to everybody. She got everybody's attention.

'That's fine. You can have him. I'm not in line." I said with a little bit of pride.

She walked away.

Finally, I stepped in the library. The quietness brought me home. This was my favorite place in the entire school. I put my stuff on the nearest table and sat down and started reading. 

I advanced more in the book than I expected in the twenty minutes. I didn't see him here so I was safe. I don't care what is going on and what the other girls think but I am avoiding him for my life.

School went by really fast. That was a surprise because usually the first day goes by slow because it is the introductions of the teachers and the class.

I didn't see any of my friends and it was the end of the day.

I grabbed my phone and called my best friend Isabella.

The phone rang a couple times and someone picked up.

"Hello?" Someone said. It was Isabella.

"Where have you been? I haven't seen you all day." I said with such a rush.

"Oh, yeah. I am sorry." She said lowering her voice.

"What happened? There has to be a reason why you didn't show up." I said.

"OK. I explain it all to you. You know the new guy that just came today. Well, I have sort of been following him around and seeing who he was. The way he came out his car was really mysterious, so I just wanted to find out. Another thing is that he is really cute."

"Really!? I can't believe you followed him. Please tell me you are not going to become one of those girls that turn crazy and obsess over him." I said with shock.

"What you are talking about one of those girls who turn crazy?" She asked.

"This weird thing happened to me that was really strange. I am on my way to the library and this girl stands in front of me. She goes on that James will be hers and only hers and she went on a crazy rampage." I said that with leaving out the part of that I actually talked to him earlier and the girl is the girl that gave me a death glare.

"Well, that's weird. I assure you that I won't be like that. If he has no interest in me than I will not try anymore." She said with assurance.

"That's good to hear. I want to see you tomorrow." I said plainly.

Tomorrow for sure, and I will try to get the rest of the gang." She replied gladly.

"Bye. I will see you tomorrow." I said and I ended the conversation. 

The minute I hang up I hear someone walking on the grass. I don't move because it could be anybody.

The walking stops and I am curious why that person stopped. It's not like I am in the way.

Then I hear a hello. The voice that I hear once again today.

Oh god.
