Three: There's a Traitor

"NAKAKAMISS din pala ang pagka-mainitin ng ulo ni Sir noh?" PE teacher said pertaining to Science teacher.

"Ilang araw na ulit siyang nasa mga pulis?" I asked.

"Six." Math teacher said.

Napabuntong-hininga ako. There is no news on television nor on newspaper about what happened last time. If you will just take a look on this place, aakalain mong walang masamang nangyayari.

The day after Science teacher was caught, we made a decision to investigate on our own. We are roaming and asking queations to every one right after our classes. But we made sure that we are not wearing our uniform anymore.

Those five days of investigating answered some questions in our mind. But everything is still in a blur sight from our view.

We found out that the killing incidents here started ten years ago. And from that moment, it always happened just like secretary had said to us.

Teachers and students, those are the targets of the killer. They were strangled into death but the mystery here is, one of the victim had undergo autopsy and they found out that the cause of death is different. Until now, this case is still not solved.

One more mystery is the thing that the secretary had said to us. She said that most of the victims are girls with a petite body, pretty face, and full of intellect.

Why? That is my question. Inaano ba ng killer ang mga babaeng pinatay niya?

Is it rape? But I haven't heard of anything about it.

Meron ring mga tsismis na hindi lamang iisa ang pumapatay. They said that there is always a traitor among the circle of friends you have. That's just absurd. Hindi ako naniniwala dahil tsismis lamang iyon. Isa pa ay napaka-creepy nung nagsabi sa amin nun. He is a nerd with braces with flames in his eyes but he frightens by a mere BLACK CAT.

"Ikaw ba Sir, hindi mo namimiss ang kakambal mo?" I asked Math teacher.

"Of course I do." He replied. After that another silence covered our circle.

"Let's go to the mall?" Pambabasag ng PE teacher sa katahimikan.

Ngayon pa talaga niya naisipang magpunta sa mall? In amidst of this case?

I felt my chest crumpled. I just realized that I don't have extra money for that.

"My budget is just enough for the month. I can't go with you." I said.

"We are not privilege like you guys. I can't go also." My roommate said.

"We will just go for window shopping girls." PE teacher still insist.

"I don't have time for that. Atsaka sayang ang pamasahe. Malamang sa malamang ay kakain rin tayo. I'll just stay here." I replied.

"Haaay. Fine. How about next week? May sweldo na tayo nun."

"Sir, gaano ba kataas ang sweldo natin dito at gusto mo pang magchill?" My roommate asked.

"Mali tanong mo Miss. Dapat ay 'gaano ba kababa ang sweldo natin'." PE teacher laughed at me and the other two just show a curve on their lips.

"Mababa nga ang sweldo natin kumpara sa ibang university pero kaya parin nitong bumuhay. And you guys pressed yourselves too much. Magchill naman kayo."

"You cannot persuade them by that Sir, don't you know?" Math teacher said.

PE teacher just shrugged and didn't say anything anymore.

Maybe he just realized how privileged he is. Galing sa mayamang pamilya ang PE teacher. And the twins, may kaya rin naman sila. Ako at ang aking roommate ay pinagkaitan ng ganoong buhay.
