Chapter 1

Mai's P.O.V.

*Ring Ring*

I heard my phone buzzing and I picked it up.

"Hello?"

"GOODMORNING BEAUTIFUL WORLD! HEY, DID YOU WAKE UP YET?" My friend, Talia, yelled through the phone.

"Well now I am with a busted eardrum."

"You'll be alright. Anyways, you ready for this afternoon?"

"Yes and no. I want to meet my parents but now they're part of a pack. I don't want anyone to know that I'm a werewolf."

"Don't worry. I'll be there also so you don't have to go all crazy about it."

"Thanks Tali. I owe you."

"No you don't, that's what friends are for. I'm gonna let you finish packing and I will be there at noon. Bye."

"Bye." And I threw my phone beside me. I looked at the clock on my dresser and seen that it was 9:38. I don't know why she called me this early. I don't need to pack much.

"Can we go for a run? I really want to."

My wolf, Athena, spoke to me.

"Yeah, we can go but we have to be very careful not to go past the line alright."

Athena got all giddy,"Okay let's go."

I walked out to my backyard and went to the woods. I looked around to make sure the coast is clear and I shifted to my wolf. Athena was in charge now.

She ran around like she had never been outside before. It felt good for me too. I've been dying to let Athena out. We only get out like two times a month.

The reason why is because I'm a white werewolf. White werewolves are extinct but I managed to pop up. I believe that if anyone see's who I am, they will kill me. That's why nobody can know who I am.

"Alright we can shift back now." Athena said.

I shifted back and walked out of the woods. That's another thing, when I shift I don't lose my clothes. I don't know why but I'm going to have to do some research on it. Everyone that knows that I'm a werewolf don't know that my clothes are still on. They only seen me shift once but I ran away and shifted back somewhere else.

I got back to my house and got a suitcase out of my closet. I put the suitcase on my bed and put five outfits in there. I'll just do some shopping there.

I went back downstairs and checked my watch. It said 11:23. I need to eat something. I'm starving.

I got the bacon and the pancake mix out. I put the bacon on the skillet and mixed the pancake mix together with the needed ingredients. Once the bacon was done cooking I put the pancake mix on top of them. Bacon pancakes!

I got this from Adventure Time. I know I'm 22 years old but I still watch cartoons.

I finished my bacon pancakes and set them on a plate. I got the syrup and went to the table. I saved three for Talia if she wanted some.

Talia is also a werewolf. She's not a rouge though. She happens to be in the same pack as my parents. Her dad is the beta of the pack.

I ate all my bacon pancakes and put my plate in the dishwasher. I heard a knock on my door.

"Coming!" I yelled and ran to the door. I opened it and it was some guy.

"Hi, sorry, I thought I saw a dog or something in your backyard earlier. I just wanted to warn you about that. So I'll be on my merry way."

"Thanks for telling me, bye." I shut the door.

Dammit! We didn't hide good enough." Athena growled.

"Hey it's alright. We just can't do it anymore, here."

"Where are we going to shift at then?"

"For now we will shift somewhere by the pack but still far from the pack." Athena whimpered and stayed quiet.

"I'm sorry Athena but it's for our own good."

I went to go call Talia but the doorbell went off.

"What now?!" I yelled in frustration.

I opened the door and there was Talia. She saw my face and her smile immediately changed into a frown.

"What's wrong Mai?"

"I'll tell you while you're eating the brunch I made you."

She smiled again and ran to the kitchen, pushing me to the side.

"Oh my gosh! You made bacon pancakes! Thank you so much!" She yelled from the kitchen. I rolled my eyes and shut the front door.

I walked into the kitchen and Talia was already eating her food.

"So tell me what's wrong?" Talia mumbled. Well she had food in her mouth so she actually said,"O el me what wron?" But I understood her.

"So I let Athena out today in the woods right. And you know I have this procedure to make sure nobody sees me but somebody came up to my door and told me that there was a white wolf in my backyard. I told Athena that we couldn't go out anymore and now she keeps on whimpering."

"You're gonna have to tell your parents about this. You might have to move in with the pack. Others will have to know that you're a wolf."

"Talia. I know that you want me to let others know that I'm a werewolf but I could be in danger. I will tell my parents about it but I'm not moving into a pack."

"By the way, how about we go for a run when we get to your parents house?"

"She can't see who I am!" Athena yelled.

"Uh, I can't I have to meet my parents immediately."

"Okay then. Maybe another time." She looked at her phone. "Are you packed? Its time to go on the plane."

I ran up stairs and got my luggage and ran back down. Talia grabbed some of my things and we ran to the car. We were a little late so we had to rush.

Talia sped to the airport. We parked in the parking garage, got our bags, and ran inside. We had to go through security. And we ran to the terminal. We made it just in time. They were just about to close the door.

"Tickets, please?" The lady behind the desk said. Talia gave her our tickets and we went inside. We sat down by each other and let out a big sigh.
