Me: *watching SvS Redux*
Video:
Janus - "Your right. So why don't we move onto something we're both familiar with Roman? Mistakes."
Me: HOLD UP! *clicks pause button*Janus said "...something we're both familiar with Roman - mistakes", so that implies that he did something that presently he sees as 'wrong' or 'a mistake'.
This immediately brought me back to the little theory that many fanders have in which Virgil & Janus were fighting/arguing and then Virgil runs away and goes to the light sides (permanently, some people add that Virgil was working with the dark sides so that they could all be accepted - which I agree with).
As another point - he could've said "we're all familiar with", not just "we're both familiar with" so;
A. He is hinting to something like "our 'mistakes' are connected".
B. He is saying "I need you to focus/listen".
C. There is no meaning behind it & I am just being weird.I believe that A is correct; and to follow that I also believe that Janus is trying to prevent Roman from making a similar mistake to what he has done in the past.
What would that be you ask?
Well; I believe that Janus had to make a 'costly choice' to do with Virgil, the dark sides & the light sides.
To go back to the theory I mentioned before, I think that Janus knew about the chances of Virgil getting attached to the light sides/wanting to become apart of the group if he went there so that all of the dark sides could be accepted - however, he probably lied to himself saying something like "that won't happen" and let Virgil go anyway - despite the strong/obvious evidence that went against his decision.
What I think would happen after Janus tells Virgil to stay with the light sides for awhile is that either;
A. They have a fight right then & there since Virgil thinks that Janus is sending him away since he doesn't care about him anymore or something like that.
B. Virgil goes along with it, but then gets attached to the lights sides, thinks that what he was doing was wrong/villain like & then they have a fight some time before Virgil ducks out (there bond breaking & growing more distant as time goes on, probably including Remus & the Orange side).
Either way, after Virgil leaves Janus would've realised his mistake - which leads up to him hiding his regret with a somewhat sarcastic & villain like attitude.
(Also, I think it would've made him somewhat insecure since when Virgil asked 'Nice gloves, did you just finish washing some dishes?' it makes me think that Virgil had never seen Janus with those gloves as apart of his outfit.In SvS & SvS Redux:
- The strong/obvious evidence was Thomas saying "Fine! I want to go to the call back!" & all the stuff that Janus brought up/mentioned in the court room and the second-half of the SvS Redux video.
- The person lying to themself was Roman, he WANTED to go to the call back - but, using Patton's words, he told himself that 'lying was wrong' (which shows just how strong Patton & Roman's bond was).
- The bond that was breaking (like Janus & Virgil's) was Roman & his bond with Patton & Thomas:
Roman not believing Thomas after he said that Roman was his hero shows that he doesn't trust Thomas's word & that his self-esteem is decreasing drastically.
Roman's look that he gave Patton after he said 'we love you' also showed that he didn't believe what Patton had said and that he was doubting himself from his past beliefs of Patton 'loving him' (as a son, since Roman calls Patton 'padre' which means dad/father - not to offend any Royality shippers).In summary; I believe that Janus knows that he made a mistake in the past (the mistake being him letting Virgil grow attached to the light sides) & that he doesn't want Roman and his bond with Thomas & Patton to break like his & Virgil's.
SIDE NOTES:
- If my "ORANGE SIDE THEORY" is correct (check chapter), then it would mean that Rage/Deimos & possibly Remus would've been like a brother/brother figures towards Virgil (and the other way around).
Remus because he kinda lost his brother sometime after they split, and Deimos because the name 'Deimos' is the name of a god who's brother is 'Phobos' (representing fear).
- Fun Fact: Every single time I re-watch the SvS Redux & I get to the part where Janus says "Your right. So why don't we move onto something we're both familiar with Roman? Mistakes." - I think; "IF YOU'RE BOTH FAMILIAR WITH MISTAKES, WHAT MISTAKE DID YOU MAKE JANUS?!" (even when I first watched it, I just thought of 'Deceit' instead of 'Janus').
- You can share this theory if you wish to, just made sure to credit me :>
