Amelia stumbled out of her apartment, her broken leg being a nuisance to her. She knew she shouldn't have gone hiking with her friends. As the normal routine, she flung the crutches down the metal stairway and proceeded to make her way down carefully. Once at the bottom she picked up her crutches and headed off to the doctor for her checkup. The road was mysteriously empty and the stray cat she had dubbed "Mr. Sassy", wasn't hissing at her feet.
"Hello?" She said to the wind, "if this is a joke, it's a pretty good one. Considering this is New York." She laughed nervously and dragged on a little faster than before. She didn't get too far down the road until-
CHI CHINK. Amelia froze in her tracks, her leafy green eyes shrink with fear. Her veins had been replaced with streams of ice, her first thought was to give the gun holder her money.
"This is no joke I assure you Amelia, but if you would like to think of it that way then go right ahead." A woman's voice, she sounded playful.
"What's going on? How do you know my name?" Her voice was shaking, along with her hands.
"Oh, well, you see I'm a bit of a stalker, we all are. But this is totally legal though." The cold metal pushes against her head, "I think you already know what's going to happen next.
"Wait-" Fate's hand brushes Amelia's back and her eyes go wide and a cold chill runs through her body. Memories, memories that couldn't possibly be hers. A dress, a portal, the Shattered War. She fought in that war.
"Stop it!" Amelia hissed
"Ooh, still got that tiger in you, sister. Y'know I think you'll like the color I picked for you."
"I'll be dead! What do you mean?" She was hyperventilating now, she was going to die not really knowing who she was. "Please don't do this."
"What a coincidence, that's what you said right before all this." Without hesitation, she pulled the trigger.
Amelia woke up in an empty space, what surrounded her looked like broken mirror pieces, in one of them she saw a person with bony hands. A wave of Deja vu washed over her, she knew that person or thing. She had a strong connection to it. Suddenly her home that she had lived on for 25 years didn't feel as real. She looked at the other mirrors and found little glimpses into other people's lives, but there were greater forces at hand.
