After the latest world-ending catastrophe, the Justice League quickly prevented. Things were going smoothly, well except for the continuous Darkseid threats and the usual Lex Luthor and Joker run-ins.
Apart from that, things were more or less good.
Clark, despite Lois' persuasions and blunt remarks, left the Daily Planet and Metropolis for a slightly higher up reporters spot at the Gotham Gazette. And not to forget the big step of him finally moving in with Bruce at Wayne Manor, Kon and Jon, of course, following.
And just like that, Batman, Superman, and their kids were all living together in a more than less dysfunctional family.
Then the real chaos ensued, but we'll get to that...
At the moment Bruce was situated in his office at Wayne Enterprises standing in front of the large glass window overlooking Gotham City.
It was around lunchtime and he decided to take a break from stock sheets and budget incomes to stretch his legs it was almost 1:15 and that meant like clockwork his boyfriend would be showing up for his usual quick afternoon visit.
And like they say speak or in this case think of the devil...
A cooling breeze swept through the office atmosphere before two strong arms wrapped around Bruce's middle the familiar scent of pine trees, mint, and something he could never quite place filled the air around him.
Bruce jerked slightly in the embrace out of surprise before turning his head to the side and seeing the beautiful face of Clark Kent his ocean blue eyes shimmering and his black hair messily blown to the side, no doubt from how fast he was going.
Neither said anything as Bruce laid a hand down on Clark's arm and leaned up to kiss him a hello instead of using words.
Bruce couldn't help the slight smirk playing at the corners of his lips when he pulled away and saw a faint blush dusting over Clark's cheeks.
Both opened their mouths to speak but neither got the chance when Bruce's assistant, Rachel firmly knocked on the glass door three times before briskly entering.
"Sorry, Mr. Wayne," she immediately apologized, politely smiling when she locked gazes with Clark, "Mr. Kent."
Bruce blew out a sigh of silent annoyance as he stepped out of Clark's embrace to deal with his assistant, "That's alright," no, it really wasn't but whatever moment he and Clark were just in was completely shattered as soon as she knocked on the door, so no point in complaining about it now. "What is it, Rachel?" he asked.
"Your 1:30 appointment has had a slight cancelation and change to it," she spoke holding her WayneTech tablet to her chest.
"What do you mean?" Bruce questioned.
"Mr. Marlton had to cancel due to personal issues, but a Mr. Stark has demanded to see you at your earliest availability," Rachel informed.
Bruce straightened up at the mention of the last man's name, "Mr. Stark?" he asked, "are you sure?"
"Yes, Sir," Rachel glanced down at the tablet before looking up again and nodding.
"Alright..." Bruce took a second as he remembered Clark still standing behind him, "give me five minutes," he instructed, "then send him up."
"Yes, Sir," Rachel replied again before turning on her heel and striding out the office.
"Bruce?" Clark came up beside him, "who's Stark?" he questioned noticing his boyfriend's immediate interest but most of all confusion at the mention of his name.
