Spookfest happens once a year in the Mushroom Kingdom. Everyone goes trick or treating with a partner of their own, then meets in town square to collect and trade extra candy with friends and family.

As Mario stepped out of the shower, there was a knock on the bathroom door. Today was Halloween and the Kiddy Crew were getting ready at the bro's house. After they were ready, they were heading to town square for Spookfest.
"Mario? Junior and some other girl are downstairs." Said Mario's 12 year old brother Luigi. Luigi was scared of pretty much everything, so he was trying to stay home for Halloween, the spookiest time of the year.
"Tell them I'll be right down." Replied Mario. He dried off his hair and body, then put on the white hat he had found in his attic. He put on the white shirt and jacket and white pants he found in a box that read 'SMO' on it.
Mario opened the door and ran to his room, grabbing a red trick or treat bucket as well as a hammer. Cappy, his partner, grabbed his hat and fused with it. He landed on his head just as Mario approached his room door.
"You ready?" Asked Cappy. Cappy has been with Mario for about a year, ever since they went to go save Daisy from marrying Bowser Jr.
"Yep." Mario walked down the stairs and into the living room. The Kiddy Crew, Junior, and a girl were in there, along with Junior's half brother Lemmy.
"Hey guys." Said Mario as he looked around the room. Everyone was sporting all different colors, as well as different outfits.
Luigi had on his usual green hat and dark blue overalls, but now had gloves on and his overalls looked like they were from the early 2000's.
Rosalina wasn't wearing her normal light blue dress. She had on a light blue pair of overalls, but no shirt, so a little bit of her breast were showing. She also had on a light blue hat on with the letter 'R' on it, and her hair was in a neat ponytail.
Peach had on normal shirt and a pair of shorts, but had Tanooki Leafs in her hair. Daisy had on a purple crown, and those plastic vampire dentures. She had on a white sheet, but shaped it a circle around her body. She had tapped a purple plastic tongue to her mouth hole.
Hat Kid had the most stunning costume on, though. She had on a purple, white and yellow dress, purple ballet shoes, a white bow, white wristcuffs with a yellow dot on it, a yellow ribbon on the back of her dress, and a purple hat with a smiley face badge, and a clock on the top surface. Next to the chair she was sitting in was a purple umbrella with a tiny clock on the top of it, and white frills on the bottom.

Junior didn't have a costume on, but Lemmy did. Lemmy basically had the same thing Mario had on, but had a red bow tie, and a black cane sitting on his lap.

"Hey, Junior. Hey, Lemmy." Said Mario.
Both Junior and Lemmy waved, but the girl sitting next to junior just kept twiddling her thumbs.
"Who's this?" Asked Mario as he looked at her.
"Mario, this is my friend Harmonie (character owned by @NillieLou ). Harmonie, this is Mario." Said Junior.
Harmonie has on a zombie costume, had blue hair, and attach-on butterfly wings...or so Mario thought. She had antenna on top of her head, but the bottom of them were hidden under her hair.
"Hello! It's nice to meet you!" Said Harmonie as she held out her hand.
Mario took it in his own, and felt that it was hot. "Nice to meet you, too."
"Ok, so what are we gonna do tonight?" Asked Hat Kid.
"So, what we were thinking about doing was going to town square and do the Candy Roller event, then split up into the Buddy System. We then hit the houses on the Mushroom, Super Crown, Boo, Goomba, and Koopa streets. They have the best candy in the whole kingdom." Said Daisy.
"What's the 'Buddy System'?" Asked Harmonie.
"The Buddy System is where we team up in groups of 2 and go off trick or treating. After that, we return to town square and trade candy with anyone who wants to. We then go to our parents, who have the literal BEST candy." Said Luigi.
"Like last year, Mario's dad had those little things that looked like Scuttle-bugs. I think they were called 'Scuttles' or something." Said Rosalina.
"So this year our Buddy System is going something along the lines of this." Peach handed Harmonie a piece of decorated paper with a list on it.

"What about Lemmy, Junior and I?" She asked, looking confused.
"Well, the thing is you guys called to be with us a FEW hours after we made the list...so your gonna have to be in a threesome!" Said Daisy.
"...I don't think that's allowed." Said Luigi after raising his hand.
"It says in the rule book it has to be a pair of 2, no more than 2, do more than 2 then your gonna eat a shoe, trick or treat, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat. If you don't I don't care, I'll yank out your underwear or in other words give you a wicked wedgy." Said Mario.
"Well, then why don't we get Bowser to go w-" Started Harmonie.
"NO!" Shouted The Kiddy Crew and Junior.
"Ok! Jeez!" Said Harmonie.
"...how about we get the Mexican Shy Guy that lives across the street from us to go?" Asked Rosalina.
"Rosa, don't say h-" Started Mario.
Suddenly, a Shy Guy with a sombrero and a guitar kicked down the door and started strumming and singing. "Shy-oh-my, let's go trick-or-treatin'! Shy-oh-my, let's go candy beatin'! Shy-oh-my, let's partner up! And go get that delicious stuff!"
Lemmy immediately started clapping, and the Mexican Shy Guy started bowing. "Thank you! I'll be playing all night!" He said.
"Oh god..." said Mario.
Mexican Shy Guy took his sombrero off and put on a red cap. "I'm ready for said trick or treating, señors!" He said while hopping on his little feet.
Mario shook his head then picked up his hat. He swiftly tossed it up and it flipped onto his head. Cappy giggled and Mario smiled, then looked at his friends.
