~Told in 3rd person, Henrik's POV, 5 months ago~

Henrik starts to wonder where Amity is.

"It's been a while, my friend," He says to himself, as he looks at a photograph of Amity and him when they were children.

He wonders what has gone wrong, how they drifted apart. The last time he saw her was that time he dropped her off at The Requiem, in her section of Blight's Requiem.

Should I go see her? He wonders.

He wonders if he even has the right to see her. The war has begun, and he has just ordered his men at the Blitzkrieg division to bomb the Requiem Forests. He starts to regret his decisions, as he tearfully says to the photograph of Amity, " I killed you. I-I know I did. Why? Why would I do that to you? After all, you have done for me."

" Sir! May I speak with you?" The new recruit asks Henrik. This new recruit was hired to fight in the war, and it has only been a few months, and he already appears bruised and toughened from the fight.

Henrik secretly envies him. He can't even stay tough like a real man in these tough times, and he's their leader.

" Yes, Louis, of course. What do you need cadet?" Henrik asks the recruit.

" There's a girl waiting outside of the building."

" A girl?" Henrik asks as a brow raises from curiosity.

"Yes sir! The girl says her name is Amity Nugraha. And, she appears to be carrying a child." The recruit answers in a very soldier-like response.

Suddenly, Henrik runs out of his office and past the recruit. Ignoring the calls from the recruit, he goes to the front of the RVOB building... And they finally reunite.

" Amity?" Henrik asks his friend, as he gives a welcoming, worried smile.

He continues saying, " What are you doing here? No, actually. Why are you here?"

Amity's brown locks wisp in the air as she locks her sapphire blue eyes with his melancholy-grey blue ones. She then says, " Why? Do you not want me here?" she says this sadly, with grief even.

" We were friends once, am I correct? You are that same little boy, right? The same one who gave me those yellow roses when I got sick?"

Henrik nods his head and looks at her with a confused gaze as he says, " Amity. You're back!" He smiles as he runs over to her, tackling her in a bear hug.

" Whoa, whoa there! Be careful of Luka," Amity says, pulling away from the embrace.

Henrik looks at the little boy in her arms. This boy looks human, that's for sure. The boy is covered in mud and has a few bruises on his arms and legs. He looks to Henrik to be about the age of six, and he's fallen in a deep sleep in Amity's arms.

" How did you find him?" Henrik asks, taking the little boy from Amity.

" Where are you taking him?" Amity asks him.

" I'm going to have my guards take him to the emergency care center inside the building if that's alright with you," Henrik answers, as he signals to a few guards nearby to take the little boy to be checked.

Amity, reluctant at first, then allows the guards to take the little boy.

" You know Luka?" Amity asks.

" Well, he is the grandson of an old lady I met at the Lilhem church of Christ. That is before the lady died. But yes, to answer your question, I do know him. He's a very bright boy, but their family is poor, so they can't afford for him to go to school," Henrik scratches his head in worry, as he remembers that church.

The church that he grew up going to with his mother.

Back when he lived in Lilhem, before they moved to a fragment of Semarang, up north, when he was ten.

They then stare at each other for a while.

It seems to portray the same way that they'd stare into each other's eyes when they first met... As kids.

Then the silence is broken.

" Henrik?" Amity begins to ask, starting up the conversation.

"Yes?" He says, the wind blowing past his wavy blonde hair with ease. The air is icy and unbearable, and the snow has begun to pick up again.

" Is it alright if I join the RVOB?"

And, with a small smile, Henrik asks, " And why do you want to do that? Don't you dhatins think that us humans are inevitably cruel and are the bad guys here?"

" But you aren't. And, my mother wasn't. She was a Blight, and you are a human. However, I think that we're all just a little broken that's all." She takes her hands in his when she says this, as she looks him in the eyes with such sincerity that transcends beyond all the promises in the world.

" If only I could've told you how much I loved you back then," he says and brushes his lips against hers.

As he presses his lips against hers, he felt a warm glow inside of him. He began to see that not all dhatins are as bad as he thinks they are... And that, no matter what Amity was, or is now, he'll always love her.

He continues, " And, you will know why I loved you. And, I still love you. Because you are kindness in itself."

" How?" She asked as they pulled apart from their kiss. She wanted to know what about her was so special. Why he'd choose her.

He blushed from her reaction.

" And, how does this have to do with me joining the RVOB for good?" She asked, making Henrik even more confused than ever.

And then, he said, " Will you help change the world with me?"

" Change... The world? That wasn't my question."

" Well, you are a dhatin, I'm a human. The RVOB only accepts humans. And the ORBV only accepts dhatins. So, what about we create something better?"

She gives him a hopeful smile, and agrees.

This was only the beginning.

Of a new era.
