THREE YEARS LATER — SENIOR YEAR.
"beommie!" taehyun ran all the way towards his boyfriend and jumped onto his back. beomgyu cracked a smile and supported taehyun by holding onto his thighs. taehyun stuck his face next to beomgyu's cheek and smiled against it.
"you guys are such couple goals it's actually disgusting." yeonjun commented and fake gagged. taehyun rolled his eyes, "you're one to say. you and soobin hyung is just as disgusting, i swear to god."
soobin chuckled at taehyun's comment and looked over at yeonjun, "sorry, jun ah, but taehyun is correct. we're just as loving as those two."
yeonjun rolled his eyes but tugged soobin's hand to pull his boyfriend closer to him. "i don't care." he muttered into soobin's sweater, "they're more disgusting."
"you two couples can stop arguing, you four are equally disgusting." kai, the youngest of the five, sassed. the four laughed at the youngest's comment as taehyun jumped off beomgyu's back and laced their hands together.
"what are we going to do, beommie?" taehyun asked. the five boys walked out of school and turned right, walking towards the park they hang out so often at. beomgyu smiled at his boyfriend and swung their intertwined hands as they walked, "don't know, but it's going to be fun because you're here with me."
taehyun smiled shyly and looked towards the side as a slight blush started creeping towards his cheeks. beomgyu chuckled at how shy his boyfriend got and kissed his cheek gently, "love you."
taehyun's shy smile immediately brighten up, turning his head to look at beomgyu, "love you too!" said taehyun, a little overjoyed. beomgyu chuckled, thinking that his boyfriend is the cutest boy in the entire world, no, universe.
"can you two lovebirds catch up and actually join in our conversation instead of creating your own one?" yeonjun said, clearly annoyed. soobin frowned and hit his boyfriend's arm gently, "stop ruining their moments! it's fine, you guys can continue but please do catch up, hyuka wants to get the ice-cream before the ice-cream parlour closes."
taehyun and beomgyu nodded as they jogged up to catch up with their friends. the five boys engaged in their own conversation: beomgyu, taehyun and huening kai arguing about which ice-cream flavour is the best while yeonjun and soobin talking about how childish the other three are.
"we're hereeee!" kai yelled with much excitement in his voice, jumping up and down as his finger pointed at the colourful and beautiful ice-cream parlour. it was genuinely beautiful. both the exterior and the interior were so beautifully decorated and aesthetically pleasing, making all five boys smile at the decoration.
taehyun and beomgyu ordered a chocolate banana boat each, soobin ordered a strawberry sundae with peanuts, yeonjun ordered a chocolate sundae with sprinkles on top and huening kai ordered a double chocolate cone with chocolate syrup on it.
"that's so sweet, hyuka," commented yeonjun when he saw huening kai's dessert.
kai snickered, "you're one to talk." yeonjun looks like he was about to throw hands, but soobin managed to hold his boyfriend back.
"calm down, the both of you! can't you two be civilised best friends?" soobin frowned at the two boys, who are now glaring at each other.
beomgyu chuckled at their friends' childishness. taehyun looked over at beomgyu and smiled, "you're beautiful."
beomgyu stopped chuckling and looked over at his boyfriend, frowning, "well, that's random."
"can't i just compliment my boyfriend whenever i want?" taehyun smiled, closing the distance between them but leaving a few centimetres between their faces.
beomgyu's eyes flickered down to taehyun's lips and it lingers there for a few seconds. taehyun licked his lips and subtly smiled at the effect he has on beomgyu. beomgyu looked back up at taehyun's eyes, looking for permission.
taehyun giggled and backed up, grabbing his spoon, wanting to start eating his already melting banana boat. beomgyu grabbed taehyun's other wrist and pulled the younger towards him, forcing taehyun to drop his spoon and look at beomgyu in the eyes.
"you can, and i like that," beomgyu muttered before placing his lips on taehyun's. taehyun smiled against the kiss and relaxed under beomgyu's touch on his wrist. beomgyu moved his other hand behind taehyun's neck and pulled him closer, making the gap between them smaller.
a large clearing of the throat was heard behind the couple and the two boys jumped apart. "can you two not make out in an ice-cream parlour?" yeonjun said, his arms crossed in front his chest and tapping his right feet, his expression unimpressed and he looked like — emphasising on 'looked like' — he was disappointed in the two of them.
beomgyu smirked, keeping his grip on taehyun's wrist as taehyun chuckled nervously and scratched the back of his nape, whispering a small 'sorry' under his breath. beomgyu shrugged and kai sat opposite to the couple. yeonjun sighed and went next to the youngest, with soobin next to him.
"i get you two are in love and stuff, but please, it is quite uncomfortable sometimes." soobin said, a small shy smile on his lips as he looked at the couple, mainly at beomgyu since beomgyu initiates most of the time. beomgyu shrugged, not caring about other's eyes on them.
he wanted the world to know he loves taehyun, and taehyun loves him back. he wanted the world to know that kang taehyun, the kang taehyun is his, and his only. he wanted the world to know that kang taehyun is his boyfriend, and he only belonged to him.
"i don't care." said beomgyu, scooping a bit of the banana boat up and eating it. yeonjun sighed and soobin shook his head. huening kai was just innocently eating his double chocolate ice-cream, humming a familiar tune. how is that boy so innocent?
taehyun smiled, "sorry, hyung. we'll try to do it less. we're sorry, aren't we, beom?" he looked over at the brown-haired boy.
beomgyu looked at taehyun, searching for sarcasm in taehyun's eyes, but end up finding none. beomgyu sighed, "yeah, yeah. we are so sorry."
soobin's face instantly lit up, "great! now let's enjoy these ice-creams before they melt away."
the five boys ate in silence, enjoying the delicious, cold desserts in front of them. that was, until kai broke the silence.
"can i get another one?" he asked innocently. soobin nodded as yeonjun groaned, "does that mean we have to move? i don't want to."
soobin glared at yeonjun softly, "it's fine, jun ah. just move with me, come on."
taehyun chuckled lightly at the couple's interactions. honestly, soobin and yeonjun looks like enemies more like lovers most of the time. they're constantly bickering like an old married couple and that just makes their chemistry more interesting. he swears they're in love, but 90% of the time they just look like they hate each other.
eventually, yeonjun agreed to move over as huening kai went over to the counter, with soobin, to order another double chocolate ice-cream with chocolate syrup and sprinkles on it this time. "the amount of sugar in it." yeonjun muttered under his breath while shaking his head.
taehyun chuckled, "let him be, hyung, he's a child. children needs sugar to function."
yeonjun looked at taehyun up and down and let out a breathy laugh, "you're a child too. i don't see you eating that much of sugar."
taehyun rolled his eyes. beomgyu squeezed taehyun's hand, making the younger turn his head towards his boyfriend. taehyun raised his eyebrow, quietly asking him what's the matter.
"i just miss your attention." beomgyu muttered, tracing little shapes onto the back of taehyun's palm. taehyun lightly chuckled and smiled, pecking beomgyu's lip lightly.
"you'll always have my attention." taehyun smiled. beomgyu looked up and frowning, "really?"
taehyun nodded, "always."
beomgyu smiled, "you promised."
taehyun nodded and his smile widened, "yeah, i promised."
