with a plastered smile and shiny
eyes i juggle identities like a
joker juggles for a queen seeking
attention looking for
recognition wanting them
to see the labels flying in the air
and say its
okay thats
right you are
understood
wanting them-
them
who are they?
my friends
my parents?
fellow peasants
noblemen?
some one within this medieval classification of virtue
any one to look beyond the
garish colors and jingling bells
the nothing i am supposedly worth in cards
but not this time as
the queen only flicks a single
gold coin a pat on the head a
promise that i will
come back
back the next
day
the next
dancing for all to see humiliation
on display for
shallow validation
