It's Wednesday and we have no school today and tomorrow because of some teachers meeting or whatever, so I'm laying on Michael's bed as I wait for him to turn on his PS4 so we can watch a movie on Netflix.
"Did you see my controller?" He asks, turning on his flat screen.
"On the bed, Mikey. Come on over here." I say, putting down my phone from texting Luke about our movie date and motioning Michael over to the bed and into my outstretched arms.
I cuddle into Michael as he browses through the genres.
"Michael, since when did you like guys?" I ask, staring at his clothed chest.
"Since I met you." He cheekily replies.
"I'm serious." I say, rolling my eyes and moving up so I can shove my face between his shoulder and neck to leave a few kisses.
"Well, . . . I was in primary school and there was this guy. Obviously when you're that young and you see someone you like, you instantly think you're in love. So, I wanted to be with him forever. I held his bookbag at lunch just because I thought I was actually doing something." Michael laughs and I smile, closing my eyes and resting my head on his shoulder. "And one day he asked me why I kept following him around and I said because I love you. And he asked me 'The same way I love my mum?' and I said 'No, I want to be with you forever and kiss you' or something along those lines and he tells me that he only likes me a friend and he asked me 'Isn't it weird if two boys date?' So, I went home and cried to my mum and she gave me this long speech about love and how it was ok. And I stopped talking to the boy and forgot him as a whole until this certain boy came back in sixth form and I thought 'This is my chance, but I have to act cool now and maybe become his friend first' and when Luke brought you over to our table one day and you sat next to me and introduced yourself -like I've changed- I started to feel those feelings again. I wanted to be with you forever and kiss you."
Michael nudges his chin into my hair and I move to look up at him.
"Are you talking about me?"
"When have I ever stopped?" Michael pulls me closer and looks into my eyes. "So, tell me Calum. Is it still weird if two boys date?"
"Of course not, considering I'm dating one myself."
"Then kiss me."
What. W h at. W h a t. What. Wh at.
Kiss Michael? I really am dreaming.
But no, I hope this is real because Michael nudges his dark red lips onto mine and can't help but feel this rush of excitement and start to smile maniacally. Kissing Michael was seriously on my bucket list and now I can cross it out feeling achieved. Kissing Michael is like buying shitty earphones that work great. Okay, maybe not shitty . . . but the kiss is really great. Amazing, actually as Michael bites my lip and his tongue explores my mouth. Stop smiling Calum, your cheeks hurts and you're starting to kiss weird. But Michael's smiling as well and he doesn't seem to mind the sloppiness.
I pull back to get my thoughts under control and my breathing steady but Michael's lips are like a positively, actively charged part of a magnet that can't seem to get enough and damn. I just need a moment because this is just all surreal. How did I mange to snag Michael, his lips, and a date to the dance? Will I win big if I hit the casinos next?
"Calum, kiss me." Michael says in a whiney whisper.
Fuck. I'm not sure if that was cute or really effing sexy because I'm pretty sure my penis just twitched.
Michael grabs a hold of my hips and jabs his lips onto mine for a second or two before bringing them down to kiss my neck. His raises my shirt and let's his hands roam my body, fingers grazing over my nipples.
"M-Michael stop, you're turning me on." I groan, bucking my hips.
"Calum, don't let me take advantage of you, alright? I think I'm about to black out from lust." Michael mumbles against my bare chest.
I need to get these pants off.
I fumble with trying to get my pants off with Michael ontop of me.
He places soft kisses over my chest and grabs a hold of my hands, stopping me.
"Not yet, Calum." Kiss. "I just want to feel you."
Jesus Christ, Michael's words were like silk.
"But I want to feel you in me." I say with much need.
"Eager to bottom, are we?" A voice interrupts as its owner walks inside Michael's room.
"JC, Luke! Stop being a pervert!" I yell, shielding my chest and blushing fiercely. What am I doing? I have no boobs.
"Who let you in here anyways?" Michael asks, sitting up and messing with his hair.
"Well, Alex and Rian snuck in and opened the front door for Jack and Brendon and they let Zack in and he let Ashton in and I invited myself in." Luke explains, taking a seat at the edge of the bed where Michael and I didn't occupy and takes Michael's controller to start browsing through Netflix. "Ooh, what about a comedy? Romance? Horror? Horror."
"Luke get out." I groan, burying my face in Michael's pillows.
Michael gets up and starts heading for the stairs, muttering a, "Mine as well make popcorn."
Brendon, Rian, Ashton, and Alex pass Michael on the way to his room; Jack and Zack following shortly with a few cans of soda in their hands.
"Luke, what movie did you pick?" Jack asks, distributing the coke cans to everyone and leaving two on Michael's nightstand.
"Some horror movie." Brendon replies, looking at the screen.
I sit up and open the can. Mine as well interact with them.
I take a sip from my coke before addressing my best friend. "Luke, when I said I was having a movie date with Michael, I didn't mean a BFMD. I meant like just the two of us. Not you, me, and everyone we hang out with, but just me and Michael. So, if everyone can just scoot--"
"Shh, Calum, the movies about to start." Ashton hushes from the floor.
Michael comes back ten minutes later with two popcorn bags and throws one at our intruding friends -which Ashton professionally catches- before taking a seat next to me on his bed.
"Do you still have your uh, problem?" Michael whispers to me in the silence.
"No, Luke took care of it."
Michael stares at me, almost bewildered. Confusion takes over me until I process what I just said, blushing a deep scarlet. It was like I got my face stuck in a heating vent.
"No! Not like that, I meant Luke's face took care of it. Like, I saw his face and went limp . . Because he's ugly." God dammit, Calum. Shut up, please.
I hear a few laughs from down on the ground but Ashton's the loudest.
"Let's just watch the movie, yeah?" Michael says and leans over me to grab the abandoned Coke.
My voice was barely auditable as I mutter an, "Ok."
The beginning credits finally deceased and I now know exactly what movie this is. Luke and I have watched it twice but it feels like thousands of times. House Hunting.
"Ashton, quite your laughing." Luke complains.
"That's why Calum thinks you're ugly." Ashton replies, still giggling.
Luke rolls his eyes. "That has nothing to do with anything. Clearly, I'm very good looking with my quiffed hair and gorgeous eyes and pro athletic body alright, Ash? Calum just said that because it's weird if I make him hard, you know? Regardless if he was a girl, best friends are friend zoned for a reason and just for that, they all die except for that girl." Luke says, pointing to the screen.
"GOD DAMMIT LUKE! NOW WE GOTTA CHANGE THE MOVIE."
