"Simon, my legs aren't long enough to reach up there!" I yelled to Simon from the other room, who was sorting out plastic spiders from fake cobwebs.

There was a hearty laugh as he swung around the corner, hands covered in the fake webs.

"There's a ladder in the garage." He replied.

I turned and shot a glare.

"I'm not going out there, it's chucking it down!"

"Fine, fine. C'mere, short-stack."

Simon carefully placed the cobwebs onto the dining table then dipped himself between my legs, using a singular hand to guide me onto his shoulders. I let out an impressed huff.

"I'm good, right? Years of fighting walkers gets me somewhere." He turned his head to look upwards and rest between my legs, a sly grin appearing.

I rolled my eyes with a giggle, taking my time to fix the decorations onto the walls. Simon hummed while I made sure they were in the right place and secure. He let one hand leave from my thigh to reach cautiously toward the cobwebs.

"Here, I think this is the final and then we're done."

I took them and glued them to the corners of the walls and ceiling, making it look realistic.

"Oh! What about the plastic spiders?" I chirped.

"In 'ere!" Negan yelled from where Simon was originally; the kitchen.

Negan swiftly shuffled over, practically throwing the spiders into place. He then watched my face from the corner of his eye turn into discomfort. He chuckled as I rearranged them.

"There!" I chirped again.

Simon backed up a bit to the other wall and I leant forward to rest a gentle arm on his head, resting my chin into my palm. Negan returned back to the kitchen, whistling a soft tune. There was a moment of proud silence. Simon gently squeezed my thighs in approval.

"I think y-"

"We." I cut in.

"Okay okay, we," Simon chuckled. "We did a good fuckin' job."

I leapt down from his shoulders carefully and stood with my hands on my hips, tilting my head slightly.

"Hmm... could do with more along this wall." I patted the wall behind us.

"Alright don't overwork yerself, dove. We've got at least a week to continue decorating." A small quick breath of air escaped his nose.

"I've waited a long ass year for this month, I am not letting it go to waste." I squinted my eyes.

Simon put his hands up and smiled.

"Okay okay darl', but rest for now, alright? It's..." He looked at his wrist. "... almost 10pm."

I mumbled and kicked my heels along the floor while heading to my room, hands stuffed into pockets. Simon's eyes darted to Negan along with a pout.

"... go ahead." Negan motioned to me with his head.

Simon smiled widely and slithered over, following me.

"Scary movie?" He asked quietly.

"... scary movie." I replied with a tiny smile when he hissed a little 'yesss'.
