Of course. The first thing I have to do in my senior year of high school is to go on a mission. Of course.-note the sarcasm-

I walked into the linoleum tiled hallway and met up with my best friends, Amanda and Giuli.

"Hey, Haleigh" they said as I walked in. Just then my best friend Zoe walked in.

"So I heard we got a mission," she said. I nodded. There's a few things you should know about our little ragtag group of friends. Amanda is a martial arts master, but you would never guess it from her appearance. She basically wears black jeans and the same jacket every day, and has long-ish silky black hair. She's the best at hand-to-hand combat in our group. Zoe, well, she an amazing artist, and whatever she draws comes to life. She constantly has her sketchbook with her and a pencil within reach at a moments notice. She's also really sarcastic and a great friend. Giuli is, hard to explain. She's constantly listening to music, and that gives her a special power. She doesn't want anybody to know about it for the time being. That's okay with me. Our group already trusts her enough. I have a special sword, called chimamire no yūhi. It can be summoned at will, and I am famous for it. Well, within the few amount of people that knew about Meanderers.

Haleigh POV

Damon spotted our group and immediately headed over to see his girlfriend. His hands encircled Giuli's waist.

"Hey, Babe" he murmured. Ugh. I can't watch. I looked over at Zoe and decided to brief her on our mission. I walked over to her side.

"It's a routine one. But, nearby there were reports of blue-crested class-3 meanderers." Her eyes widened. I felt the same way. Class 3 were pretty rare, and blue crested, rarer among them. The higher the class, the rarer they got. The highest are class 5 and black crested. There were maybe five on Earth, and a few surrounding it. The high - pitched squeal of the bell made us jump, and we headed off to home room. When I got to Biology, there was a gorgeous boy in my seat. He had black hair that flopped into his eyes and perfect features. He had already attracted a group of admirers. I went up to my desk and said,

"excuse me, but you are in my seat," he glanced at me then looked back, looking surprised. My cheek length, thick brown hair, cut on an asymmetrical style flopped into my eyes. I pushed it away. He was still staring with an incredulous look on his face. I stifled my laughter.

"Uh... Are you going to move?" He snapped out of it and gave me a glare before getting up and asking the teacher where to sit. Mr.Salas stood up, and gave the new guy a nudge.

"Hi. My name is Nick. I'm moving from a really small town in California because my mom got a new job here," he pushed his hair out of his eyes and continued, "I have an unhealthy obsession with music, and I love to read." He stopped, gave the teacher a look and Mr.Salas pointed at the chair next to me. The new guy, or Nick or whatever, sat down and nodded absentmindedly. That was weird.

Giuli POV

I got to biology a few minutes behind Haleigh and once I got there there was a new guy sitting RIGHT next to her. He was staring at her, and since we still had a few minutes before class she had headphones plugged into her phone and was singing the lyrics to the songs she heard and stared off into space, probably dreaming of her favorite band, and her mission after school. The new guy just kept staring at her. I walked over to my seat in the desk next to her and nudged her. I mouthed 'who's the new guy?' She shrugged. The guy then blanched and stuck his hand out to me behind Haleigh's back. I shook it.

"Giuli," I said.

"Nick," he muttered. "What's her name?" He nodded his head in Haleigh's direction. I couldn't help it. I got kinda irritated. Who did this gut think he was? Staring at an amazing girl, like a total idiot, without even knowing her name! I bit my tongue

"Haleigh," I said. "Haleigh," the name rolled off his tongue, making it sound foreign. Luckily for him, as I was about to explode with madness, Mr. Salas decided to start class.
