"Nothing beats the smell of sweat and freshly cut grass"

"Gross" sang out my best friend.

But it was true.

Chloe continued, "you have to appeal to the appropriate demographic."

Wow, for a popular model, actor, and singer, she was pretty smart.

"Like for me, I would want to be wearing grandma's curtains in a teen collection on the runway."

Huh. Now that I didn't understand, but I could tell where Chloe was going with it.

"You're talking to Mrs. Allens, right?" without waiting for a reply, Chloe went on, "you have to show what it means to you. Mrs. Allens is like super into like her spirituality or whatever, so tell her that's how you feel about soccer."

That was surprisingly decent advice. Chloe was the perfect, popular, model and I was the jockette, and because we were bffs that made me popular too.

Ding, the sound of a text alert.

Practice is starting

Where are you? -Sam (My teammate)

"Oh, uh Chlo," I said, using her nickname, "I have to go to soccer." "Bye Ava, catch up later?" "K," I said, rushing out the door of the theater to the soccer fields.
