Thanatos' Temptation (Part 1)

It was the 15th of August. The sun had already gone down, but the humid air surrounds the area.

Never-ending sweat comes out of my body as I climb the stairs of the unit.

'Goodbye'

It was a 4-word LINE message from the girl.

I knew what it meant immediately.

I, who was working notwithstanding the Obon break, headed to the unit which is my home in a rush

And, on the rooftop of the unit, I found a girl who had expressionless eyes on the outside of the fence.

Seeing the girl plan her suicide, this I actually the 4th time already.

There is said to be 2 types of people in this world.

Those with an instinct to live - people controlled by the 'Eros', and

Those with an instinct to die - people controlled by the 'Thanatos'

Most of the people in this world are the former, but there was no doubt the girl was the latter.

I knew the girl was a person controlled by 'Thanatos' from before we started going out.

And therefore it shouldn't be surprising that, I first met her when I helped her as she tried to suicide on the rooftop just like now.
