Song for the Chapter: Headaches by Raveena

I wake up feeling like shit, nothing I wasn't used to after a night like the last. The natural sunlight peaks through the blinds as I sit up, careful not to wake up Ashton. I quietly walk out of the room and into the kitchen for some painkillers. I go to cabinets to grab a glass, then make my way to the fridge to grab some water. I take four of the small capsules and leave four more out for him. I climb on to the little island in the middle of the kitchen and put my feet on one of the stools below. I take a few more sips of water and look around the place. It's a little messy, it could probably use a cleaning this weekend.

As I think about putting together a list, Ash comes out of our room holding his head. I hop off the island and grab him a glass of water. I grab the painkillers and hand them both to him. I climb back up to my previous position and he mumbles a quick thank you before taking them. He taps my legs and sits on a stool where my feet previously were. I sit criss cross applesauce on the table top and he puts his head in my lap, letting out a groan.

"How do you always manage to feel better in the mornings than I do?" he asks.

It's muffled but I understand him. I let out a little laugh and run my fingers through his hair.

"Cause love, I just handle everything better than you. Honestly, I do feel how you feel right now - I just don't show it or complain about it."

"Yeah true, but you've always known I'm a crybaby about things." He puts his hands on my thighs and looks up at me.

"Oh I know, getting you to take any kind of medicine is a pain in the ass. I'm surprised you took it this morning without a complaint," I say putting my hands in my lap.

"We can't all be perfect now can we?" he laughs.

He squeezes my legs before getting up and making his way to the bathroom. I slide off the island and put our empty glasses in the dishwasher. I look at the clock on the stove and see that it's one in the afternoon. I have work at four, so cleaning will have to be postponed to tomorrow. I leave a note for myself on the fridge while I hear him come out of the bathroom.

"So what are your plans for the day?" he asks, adjusting his sweatpants.

"Well I have work in a few hours so my cleaning plans are gonna have to be put off until tomorrow. I might get ready now and hit the grocery store for a few things before I head to work. Do you need anything?" I reply, walking into our bedroom.

"Ummm, I don't think so," he says as I hear the TV in the living room turn on.

"Okay."

I rummage through my dresser and my closet to find my work attire. I regret letting him do laundry because every time he does, my stuff is never put where it's supposed to go. After a few minutes of tearing apart the room, I find my black collared v-neck, black jean shorts, and black non-slip vans. I put everything on my bed and walk into the bathroom. I turn the water on, tie my hair off, and take off the clothes I slept in. I wait a moment before stepping into the shower and let the hot water run down my body. I wash the filth of yesterday off and let my muscles relax a little. I could stand in here all day, but sadly I can't.

I turn off the water and grab my towel from the back of the door. I wrap it around my body and walk back out into the bedroom. Grabbing a thong and my black bra before walking over to the bed where my clothes are. I get dressed and head back into the bathroom to fix my face.

I pull my makeup bags out from under the sink and grab what I need from them. After wetting the sponge, I begin applying my concealer and foundation. After blending and powdering my base, I put on a light blush and some neutral eyeshadow colors. I pull out my eyeliner and apply a thin line across my lids, adding a tiny wing at the ends. I look around for and put on my most volumizing mascara, not feeling like putting on lashes today. As I'm searching for the right color lipstick, I hear Ash come into the bedroom. I look at him as he sits on my bed and he raises an eyebrow at me.
