Chapter 1 - Part 1

Crack! Was what I woke up to this morning. I live in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire so this type of weather was normal. 3:11 a.m. is what I read on my alarm. Ugh. I tried to fall back asleep but it was no use. Tossing and turning, I lay there, restless. I finally gave up and headed towards the living room. I sat on the couch and flipped on the T.V. Hopeing not to wake my father. First thing I see is a report on a severe thunderstorm. I looked out of the window. "Really?" I turned channel, another report. There was a car crash on interstate 64. At least it wasn't me. I practically flipped through all the channels and found nothing. I switched the T.V. off. I probally sat there for about 10 minutes before moving. I finally decided to try and go back to bed. I looked at the clock one more time. 4:11. Two hours before I had to get ready for school. Unlike most teenage girls, I like high school. It's my get away. Away from home. I don't like talking about my home life to anyone because its absolutely dreadful. I have no mother and barely a father. My mum died when I was 13. I'm 16 now and still don't forgive the man who killed her. He was a semi truck driver and was drunk. Investigators say she died on contact. Gladly, he was sent to prison. Since then it's been the same routine for dad. Drinking, eating, drinking, yelling, drinking, sleeping. It's all he ever does. He has a job but is paid very little. When mum died, it felt like the whole world stopped. Pain, hurt, and fear is all i felt. I thank God I'm an only child. I would love to have siblings but not with this kind of father and no mother.
