     CHAPTER ELEVEN

Corrie giggled, Clara had just shown her a video of a cat that was jumping a fence, wearing a golf hat and sunglasses. It was midnight, Clara was staying the night in Corrie's room. She was going to try to help Corrie protect her book even though she didn't know what the book was or that it was magical, she only knew that Betsy and Elizabeth were going to try to take something from Corrie that they thought was hurting her, and that Corrie didn't want it taken. That was one of the reasons Clara was such a great sister, she didn't need to know what she was protecting, as long as her sister wanted it protected.

The entire night they took turns keeping watch, making sure no one could get the book. At Two-thirty, they came in. Betsy and Elizabeth, Corrie pretended to be asleep, her face under her covers. When she opened her eyes it was to see that Clara was awake too, her eyes wide open.

Then one of them spoke, it was not Betsy's voice. It was a man... it was her father.
