Pythor and Skales were in the desert digging. They had been out there for a long time when Skales had decided to speak up.
"We're wasting our time, Pythor. There's nothing here but sand and dust." The Hypnobrai said, approaching Pythor.
"Keep digging. The Lost City of Ouroboros is under us. I know it." Pythor responded, not bothering to look at his companion as he continued to dig. "Oh, face it, your first attempt to unite the failed, and now that you have lost your flock, you've become desperate." Skales informed. "I am desperate, my disloyal number two, but only to bring our kind together so that we can unleash the Great Devourer!" Pythor said, still digging.
"You put too much faith in legends. Besides, all the Serpentine know is to be at war with one another." Skales commented. Pythor only ignored him as he continued to dig. It wasn't long until he had discovered a dial. Upon his discovery, he let out a laugh. "Skales, I believe we've found it." He said. He turned the dial, and out of the sand emerged the City. "I present to you the city formerly known as the Lost City of Ouroboros!" Pythor said to Skales.

The Destiny's Bounty had passed a mountain as the Postman, approaching the ship on a bicycle with improvised wings, emerged from the clouds.
"Wait! Slow down! I have a package for Sensei Wu!" The poor Postman cried. Meanwhile, the ninja, along with Lloyd, all sat in the dinning room.
"First, I'll stomp on his tail. Then when he turns, a thunder clap to his ears. Then when he's stunned, I'll disarm him." Lloyd said.
"Too late, he's already hypnotized you and now you're under his control." Cole said.
"Or he's already got you in a tight squeeze." (Y/n) added, leaning on Zane.
"Or spit on you with his  hallucinatory venom. Trust me, bad stuff." Kai commented. All these replies made Lloyd groan. He turned to Sensei Wu, who had just entered the room. "Uncle, what's the best way to stun a Serpentine if you don't know what kind they are?" He asked Wu.
"Sadly, it was the you carelessly lost." Wu said, placing down a box and sitting down at the head of the table.
"Hey, no, no, no, we didn't lose it. Pythor stole it." Jay defended, making (Y/n) sigh.
"Look guys. It doesn't matter what happened. Point of the matter is: without that flute we have nothing to combat their powers. We may have been successful in preventing them from uniting in the past, but they are going to try again. When they do, I have no doubt that they will be stronger." She said.
"Don't worry you two. I've almost reached my true potential, and when I become one of the Destined Ninja, we're not gonna need any magic flute." Cole said.
"You're gonna be one of the Destined Ninja? Hahaha, don't make me laugh." Kai commented.
"I thought it was decided that I was destined to become one of the Destined Ninja." Zane said.
"Oh! The only thing decided about you, Zane, is that you're weird." Jay said. This sparked another argument among the boys. (Y/n) sighed.
      "Not again...." She muttered, facepalming.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. What's in the box?" Lloyd said, cutting off the arguments and walking next to Wu.
"Your new uniforms." The sensei responded, opening the box. The ninja gasped in awe as they all took their respective colored suits.
"Whoa! They've got, like, armor!"
"I love the gold highlights!"
"Battle claws!"
"The material is really light and breathable."
"We're going to be untouchable with these!"
As the team chattered excitedly about their new uniforms, Lloyd looked in the box and saw that it was empty. "Oh, nothing for me?" He asked, sadly.
"Um, you get, uh, the box?" Wu said, in a failed attempt to make Lloyd feel better. Suddenly, the alarms went off, and the group rushed to the upper deck. (Y/n) rushed over to the computer to see what was the matter.
"Sorry to break up the moment, boys, but its looks like a small faction of our slithering friends are stirring up trouble at Mega Monster Amusement Park." She said, turning to face her comrades. Lloyd gasped excitedly.
"Amusement park? Can I go? Can I go with you, please? Let me make things up. I can help." The young boy begged.
"I'm sorry, nephew. You will stay here, where it's safe." Wu said, making Lloyd groan. "Oh, ninja get all the fun." He grumbled.
"What do you say, guys? Time to try out the new merchandise?" Jay asked, making the others smirk. They got changed and ran out the the bridge.
"All right. This new stuff feels like it'll really protect us." Cole said.
"Yet, provides more mobility." Zane added.
"You boys wanna strut your stuff on the catwalk, or get down to that amusement park so we can go on some rides?" (Y/n) asked.
"I love a good old fashioned roller coaster, but nothing beats this." Kai answered. The team jumped off the Bounty and used their vehicles to land, posing to show off their new uniforms.
"Haha! Check that out. And not a scratch on me." Cole said, as they approached the park. While they did, they saw a crowd cheering.
"Haha, ladies, relax, relax, we have arrived." Jay said, boasting slightly. However, when they got closer, they saw that the people weren't cheering for them, but for the fact that the Serpentine were already tied up.
"Uh, what just happened?" Kai asked in confusion.
"Oh, you totally missed it. There were like, icky snakes, and then this mysterious Samurai came in and saved everyone." A girl said.
"He was, like, gorgeous." A second girl said.
"You saw his face?!" Kai asked. "No, but we could totally tell." The first girl said.
"Then, how can you tell the Samurai was a guy?" (Y/n) asked them, as Nya approached.
"Nya, you're here!" Jay said, noticing the black haired girl.
"Yeah, you just missed all the action. He just flew in, took care of business, and then flew off. It was pretty cool." She said, handing the two girls ice cream, before leaving. It was at this time, that the ninja began to hear what the civilians said.
"I don't wanna be a ninja! I wanna be a Samurai!"
"The Samurai is my new hero."
"I knew the Samurai could kick the ninjas' butts."
"Ugh, who is this guy?" Kai said in anger.
"Whoever he is, he's stealing our thunder." Cole responded in annoyance.
"And we just got these cool new ninja suits. Argh! I'm gonna say it: I hate Samurai!" Jay complained, as Wu appeared eating cotton candy.
"Do I hear a hint of jealousy? Maybe this can be a lesson for you." Wu said. "Oh! Not another lesson. Hey, how'd you get here so quick?" Jay asked.  "The lesson is iron sharpens iron." Wu said, ignoring Jay's complaint and question.
"I do not follow, Sensei." Zane said.
"He's saying that a healthy competition might be able to help us reach out true potential faster." (Y/n) interpreted.
"That is correct. Do not be jealous of this Samurai, let it inspire you." Wu clarified. "Oh, ferris wheel!" He cheered, running off towards the attraction.
"Inspire?" Jay asked, still not understanding what his sensei meant.
"Wait a minute. Maybe the old man's right." Kai said.
"Kai, whatever you are thinking, stop it." (Y/n) warned.
"You want us to compete with the Samurai? He's got all the cool gadgets, we don't stand a chance." Cole said.
"No, not with him. With us. I say we turn this into our own competition. Whichever of us are skilled enough to catch this mysterious Samurai are probably the best of the bunch." Kai said, ignoring (Y/n)'s warning, making the Master of Light glare at him.
"So which ever two of us learn the identity of this Samurai are the ones who will become the destined Green and Silver Ninja. Ha! I love it." Jay cheered.
"Then it's a bet. May the Green Ninja win." Cole replied.
"Nimrods...." (Y/n) said, rolling her eyes.
------------------------------------------------------
Later that day, the alarms on the Bounty went off again. " Multiple snake sightings! They're everywhere!" Nya said, and the ninja, minus (Y/n), all ran to the different sights. Nya looked at the girl and walked over. "Aren't you going to help them?" She asked, making (Y/n) sigh.
"Nope. They've convinced themselves that the two of us that discover the Samurai's identity will be the Destined Ninja. I don't want any part in that." She responded. Nya rolled her eyes. "Why am I not surprised. That prophecy is all they ever talk about now a days. But, why don't you want to be apart of it? Aren't you curious to see who it ends up being?" Nya asked.
"The Samurai, or the Destined Ninja? I already know two of those. One I helped create, the other, I want to avoid...." (Y/n) said, crossing her arms and looking off to the side. "You know who the Destined Ninja are?" Nya asked. (Y/n) chuckled. "Just the Silver Ninja. And we both know who the Samurai is." She said, playfully hitting Nya's shoulder. The two girls shared a laugh, before the room slowly filled with silence. Suddenly, Nya spoke up.
"So, if you know that you are the Silver Ninja, why haven't you stepped up to that role yet?" Nya asked, surprising (Y/n). "The boys think this is all some game. I know better, though. I mean, who wants all that responsibility?" She replied. This made Nya nod in understanding. "Well, I'm not going to tell you what to do, but I will tell you this. What is written will happen. You can't avoid that. One day you will have to rise as the Silver ninja. It's unavoidable." Nya said, putting a hand (Y/n)'s shoulder, before walking away, leaving the Yellow Ninja to think.
------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, after several failed attempts of catching the Samurai, Kai had to babysit Lloyd. However, Kai dropped him off at the arcade.
"Okay, I know it's my turn to look after you, but just play a few games and stay put while I look around. I have a feeling the Samurai may show up." He said, handing the kid some money.
"Oh, let me help!" Lloyd begged. "No." Kai rejected. "Come on. At least drop me off at a decent arcade. "Lloyd grumbled. "Sorry, shorty." Kai said, driving off. "Kai, wait!" Lloyd called out. Realizing that Kai didn't hear him, he turned to walk into the arcade. Just as he was about to enter the Arcade, he overheard some Serpentine.
"I hear he found it, and everyone is gathering again." Skales said to some other Serpentine.           "Impossible. The Lost City does not exist." Fang-suei said. "Well, it isn't lost anymore. Haha, and I heard there's gonna be a fight." Skales commented. "A fight? Count me in." Fang-suei said, and the group of snakes headed towards a bus. Lloyd looked around and saw a shop with Serpentine costumes. Lloyd smirked as he went to go and Buy one of the costumes. Once he did, he followed a line of Serpentine to a bus.  "All aboard. Next stop, Ouroboros." Skales said from the driver's seat. "Hey, you, hold it there." Skales said to the boy in disguise.
"Huh?" Lloyd said, concerned that he had gotten caught. "Last one in closes the door." Skales continued. "Uh, sure thing." Lloyd said, closing the door and sitting down. Then the bus left. It drove through the desert all day, and had arrived at the City at nightfall.
"Just do as I've said, and I promise you will be my second-in-command. Forever." Pythor said to Skales, after he watched all the Serpentine be seated. Both of them put cotton in their ears, before Pythor went before the Serpentine once again. "I bring you together to the Lost City of Ouroboros, before the statue of our very own Great Devourer, to speak of unity!" He said.
"Where are the fights?"
"Where is the big show?"
"Slither Pit! Slither Pit! Slither Pit! Slither Pit!"
Pythor growled as the Serpentine refused to listen to him. "Argh! You want a show? You want to see a fight? I ask for your allegiance, but you will not give it! So I will take it!" Pythor yelled.
"What are you saying?" Fangtom asked, as he and the other Serpentine Generals approached Pythor. "I challenge the four tribe Generals for their and their allegiance. At once!" Pythor challenged.
"I fought hard for this and will not give it up easily." Acidicus said.
"There's no way he can defeat the four of us at once." Skalidor said, and at that, the Generals, minus Skales, all dogpiled Pythor. Skales secretly handed him the Sacred Flute, and Pythor immediately started playing it.
"Oh, he's using the Sacred Flute against his own!" Lloyd muttered to himself, once he realized what Pythor was doing.
"My ears!"
"It hurts!"
While the Generals groaned in pain, Skales threw his staff down at Pythor. Pythor then took the other Generals down and picked up their staffs. "Bow to your master." He said to the Generals, throwing their staffs on the ground. "Bow to your master, Serpentine!" He yelled to the Serpentine. The Serpentine all complied to this order. Lloyd tried to bow as well, but ended up accidentally dropping his rattles. He tried to sneak away, but Mezmo grabbed him. "Where do you think you're going?" He asked, exposing Lloyd.
"Lloyd?!" Pythor called out in shock and anger, making Lloyd gulp.
------------------------------------------------------
The next day, the Ninja and Nya were all flying on the Bounty. "Trying to find out the Samurai's identity is more of a nuisance than the snakes. Any luck with you?" Cole complained.
"The guy's elusive. He's like a ghost. One moment he's there, the next he's gone." Jay commented.
"I am starting to believe we might never catch him." Zane added.
"I think it's safe to say, none of us are closer to proving we're the Green or Silver Ninja." Kai said, as Wu entered the room.
"Looks like iron is sharpening iron. I feel you are getting closer to your True Potential." Wu said, lightly squeezing Cole's arm, making the boy grimace in pain.
"Uh guys? Where's Lloyd?" (Y/n) said, noticing the boy's disappearance.
"I thought Cole was gonna pick him up."
"I went to the arcade, but he wasn't there. Jay was—"
"Don't bring me into this. I babysat yesterday."
"You mean all 4 of you lost him?!"
"I apologize, we have not seen him."
"We must find the boy." Wu said, sending the ninja off to find Lloyd. The team all went to the arcade, where Kai last saw Lloyd.
"Lloyd? Lloyd?" Kai called out, before turning to (Y/n). " He was right here. Someone must have seen him." He said. Cole looked around and spotted a security camera.
"Hey, guys. Check this out." Cole said. The group then went to go watch the footage, revealing that Lloyd was, at one point, in the area.
"Wait, wait, there's the pipsqueak. Play that back." Jay said to (Y/n), who complied. They saw that Lloyd had bought a Serpentine costume, and disappeared behind an ally corner. "What is he up to?" Jay asked. They then went to the ally where Lloyd disappeared, spotting footprints that eventually stopped.
"I sense these are Lloyd's footprints, but they come to an end here. Why?" Zane, confused as to what could have happened to the boy. (Y/n) bent down on one knee and rubbed her fingertips against them. She looked off into the distance, before standing up.
"Something tells me we're going for a ride. Come on, boys. Get your vehicles ready." She said, walking over to Cole. The boys summoned their weapons, and the team rode to the City of Ouroboros.
"What is that place?" Cole asked once he spotted the City.
"Looks like snake city." Jay commented.
"It is snake city. It's the Lost City of Ouroboros. The Serpentine used to gather there years before the Serpentine War and worship the Great Devourer." (Y/n) said from Cole's vehicle.
"Let's get a closer look." Kai said. When the team got closer, they made their vehicles disappear, and snuck into the City.
"It appears Pythor has successfully united all of the tribes." Zane said, watching all the Serpentine sit down in the stands.
"I know we ruined their last get-together, but that's no reason to not get an invitation. My feelings are hurt." Cole said in a joking manner.
"Guys! I see Lloyd!" (Y/n) said, pointing to the boy who was in a cage.
"Whoa. (Y/n) was right. Look at who they worship!" Jay said, pointing to a giant snake statue.
"Let me guess: that's the Great Devourer." Cole replied.
"All the more reason to get Lloyd out of here. This comes to an end today." Kai said, pulling out his sword, the boys following suit.
"Guys wait! This could all be a--" A cage fell on the Ninja, cutting (Y/n) off and causing the boys to drop their weapons. "--trap." (Y/n) finished. Lloyd saw what happened and gasped.
"The ninja." He said, happy to see his friends. Pythor approached them and picked up their fallen weapons.
"Looks like we've caught the main event." He said, letting out a laugh, as the team were brought into the arena.
"Main event? What do you think he meant by 'main event?'" Jay asked nervously.
"I have a feeling we're the main event." Kai answered.
"Or the main course." Cole commented.
"Kai, for once you may be right. Things might actually come to an end today." (Y/n) said, looking around at the Serpentine, all of them cheering for the Ninja's demise.
"Uh, don't worry. The Samurai could still come around to save us." Jay said, trying to sound hopeful.
"You say you wanted a battle, and I give you one! I give you: Ninja versus Samurai!" Pythor said, and a gate is opened, revealing the Samurai.
"Jay, you know that little voice in your head that tells you to quite while you're ahead?" (Y/n) asked her friend in blue.
"Yeah, why?" Jay replied in fear, not taking his eyes off the Samurai. "You don't have one!" (Y/n) yelled.  "Can I just ask how we are supposed to fight the Samurai? We don't even have our Golden Weapons and he has that hulking thing of armor. It's not fair!" Jay complained.
"I want to see once and for all who is the greatest hero. Is it Samurai, or Ninja? Only the victor will be allowed to leave!" Pythor announced.
"Man, I'm really starting to hate that guy." (Y/n) said, pulling out her bladed fans.
"Stay together." Kai said, as the group stayed huddled together in defensive stances.
"Perhaps he can join our team to fight our way out? After all, he hates the Serpentine too." Zane commented. However, the Samurai attacked the Ninja, causing them to have to dodge.
"Scratch that. He is not on our team!" Cole said.
      "Really? I hadn't notice!" (Y/n) retorted.
"Haha, missed me!" Jay boasted, only to get hit in the head by one of the Samurai's weapons.
      "Tornado of Creation?" Zane suggested.
"That's our best option. Let's do it!" (Y/n) said, the team getting ready to do Spinjitzu.
"Light!"
"Earth!"
"Fire!"
"Ice!"
"Lightning!"
"Ninja, go!"
The group all used Spinjitzu to make the Tornado of Creation. A bunch of stuff flew into the tornado, and was made into a giant slingshot. The Ninja used said slingshot to fire a giant boulder at the Samurai, but only for the Samurai to block it. The Ninja rushed at the Samurai, but Pythor activated spikes.
"Argh! Why can't anyone play fair?" Jay yelled. Then Pythor tilted the arena.
"Because that would be to easy!" (Y/n) said, holding onto a spike.
"Can this get any worse?!" Cole asked.
"We must continue to make it appear that we are fighting for real." Samurai said, in a very gruff voice.
"Huh, we're not fighting for real?" Jay asked, confused. "Keep up the charade and hold on to my exo-suit." The Samurai said. The Ninja jumped on to the Samurai's suit, and they all tried to fly off, but weren't able to.
"There's too much weight!" Kai said. The Samurai then jumped out of the suit and they all flew off on the mech.
"I can't believe he just saved us."
"He stole our thunder again!"
"Argh! I hate that Samurai!"
"Not the time guys! Not! The! Time!"
"Go, ninja, go!" Lloyd cheered, watching his friends escape. Pythor turned to the Samurai.
"Get him!" Pythor ordered, and some Serpentine approached him.
"Magnetizer activated." Samurai X said, using a magnet to steal the weapons, then fly away with a jetpack. Meanwhile, the Ninja were all struggling on top of Samurai X's mech.
"How do you turn this thing off?" Kai asked. Suddenly, the mech swan dived, and crashed in the desert. When the Ninja recovered from their crash, they noticed two of them were missing.

"Where are Kai and (Y/N)?!" Jay asked, not seeing the two anywhere. In fact, Kai and (Y/n) had landed in another location. Kai landed face down in the sand and got stuck. (Y/n) walked over to help him. Once she pulled him out of the sand, they looked around, but didn't see any of the others.
"Guys?!"Kai called out, only to see the Samurai flying in the air. "Huh? The Samurai?" He mumbled, watching as the Samurai crashed. Kai and (Y/n) looked at each other, before running after him. When they found him, they saw that he had taken off his helmet, revealing her identity. "Nya?" Kai asked, as he and (Y/n) approached her. Nya quickly put the helmet back on.
"Steer clear, ninja! Don't look..." Realizing she had been caught, she took the helmet back off and sighed, "...at me." "I don't understand. You're the Samurai?" Kai asked, clearly confused at the situation.
"Of course she is." (Y/n) said.
"It was always a boy's club. You never let me try to help." Nya explained. "So I helped her find her own way to be a hero." (Y/n) said, walking to stand next to Nya. "Are you mad?" Nya asked, slightly worried.
"Mad? Of course not. It's just, all this time, I've been trying to protect you and you've never needed it. You're amazing." Kai replied in awe.
"Girl power." Nya said, punching Kai's shoulder. "You're not gonna tell the others, are you?" She asked. "But we had a bet. We said whoever caught the Samurai would become one of the Destined—" (Y/n) glared at Kai, and Nya gave him a worried look, causing him to sigh. "Of course I won't say anything. How'd you make all this stuff?" He asked. "You'd be surprised how much spare time I have waiting for you guys to come back from your missions. You better head back before anyone gets suspicious. We'll have to rescue Lloyd another day." Nya relied, handing Kai the weapons.
"Nya, whenever I get in trouble, the other three and (Y/n) always have my back. But you...just be careful, will you?" Kai asked Nya, who smiled. "Promise. Besides, (Y/n)'s got my back too." She replied, as she and (Y/n) wrapped an arm around each other's shoulders. "You got that right." (Y/n) commented. Kai smiled at the girls, but then realized something.
"But how are you gonna get back?" He asked her. "I have my ways." Nya said, pressing a button on her helmet.
------------------------------------------------------
The other ninja were still looking for Kai and (Y/n), when the mech stood up. "Quick. Get it. It's gonna get away!" Jay yelled, he and the boys all running towards the mech. However, the mech flew ways, leaving the boys stranded. "Great. Now we lost Kai and (Y/n), the Samurai suit is gone, and we have no way to get home." Jay complained. Cole looked out into the distances and smirked.
"I wouldn't say that." He said, showing that Kai and (Y/n) had returned, their weapons in hand. They then used their vehicles to return to the Bounty.
------------------------------------------------------
Later that night, the team were brushing their teeth, while Kai and (Y/n) explained their encounter with Samurai X.
"He was all mysterious. Never said a word. Then handed me the Golden Weapons and poof, he was gone." Kai explained.
"Poof? He just poofed?" Cole asked in shock and disbelief.
"Yep, pretty much." (Y/n) said, brushing her hair.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a minute, guys. If the Samurai had his hands on the most powerful weapons in the whole wide world, why would he just give them back to you?" Jay asked in confusion.
"Um, I don't know. Maybe she—" (Y/n) elbowed Kai. "I mean, he's not so bad after all. All I do know is that we owe him our lives. Maybe he has made is all a little better." Kai answered.
"I sense this means the bet is off." Zane commented.
      "It's definitely off." (Y/n) replied.
"More importantly, my nephew has found his way into the den of all snakes. I fear there may be no way of rescuing him now." Wu said, solemnly.
"Sensei, there's always a way." Kai said.
"And don't worry. We'll find it." Cole added. The Ninja all went to bed, and Wu went to go fin Nya. "I think you forgot this." Wu said, handing her a Samurai weapon. "Iron sharpens iron, sibling sharpens sibling, and sister sharpens sister." Wu said, leaving the girl. She smiled, before entering her room to turn in for the night.
