~Emilia's POV~
"It's you... It's always been you, Em," He said to me as he walked closer to me.
"Fred... I" I was cut off by him moving closer to me. His large, muscular figure towered over me. His hands were around my waist and pulled me close to him.
I looked up at him. His eyes were sparkling somehow in this weather. They were so incredibly beautiful. I felt my heart pounding so hard. It felt as though I was about to explode. His wet, red hair falling in front of his face. The pure heat of his body next to mine in the cold, pouring rain was enough to make me want to hold him so close in that moment. He looked at me up and down, lightly biting his lower lip. I knew what he was thinking... I was thinking it too.
He took a piece of my wet, dark brown hair and tucked it behind my ear as he leaned in. Still keeping the eye contact. I was going to melt into a puddle if he kept this up. I was starting to lean in as well. We were only inches away from each other's faces. I could feel his breath on my lips. warm and smelled of mint. our lips were so close I-
"Ms. Baker!" Professor Snape called out to me, breaking the most wonderful daydream I'd ever had. "Something you would like to share with the class? I know you must have some 'exciting' plans this summer but can we please keep some composure for the last day, hmm?"
I was flustered and felt my cheeks getting red. I nodded, "Sorry, professor."
He sneered at me for a moment but then got right back into today's lesson: Skele-gro.
I was extremely embarrassed as I heard giggles in my direction. I put my head down and begin to take notes on my parchment. It was the last day of school and I still somehow managed to make a fool of myself. I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I didn't move, knowing who it was.
"What was it about this time, Em?" asked Harry in a whisper, "Was it about him, again?" he asked with a smirk.
Harry was one of my most trusted friends. We could always tell each other everything. I helped admit to his feelings for Ginny. He may say otherwise however but it definitely me who saw that match from miles away. He was one of the few people who knew about my crush on Fred Weasley. I honestly don't know what I would do without the friendship between me and Harry. We always knew what each other was thinking. I think that is what drew us together. I wouldn't trade our friendship for the world. I would never tell him that though. He already has a big enough head being the chosen one.
"Shut up, Potter," I say jokingly in a whisper. I continued to take my notes.
"I knew it!' he exclaimed, still trying his best to keep his volume down, "You really should pick a better moment, you know. Daydreaming about imaginary scenarios that aren't ever going to happen should be saved for right before bed, don't you think?" I gave him a light jab to the arm. i knew he was only teasing of course. He hadn't got a mean bone in his body.
"What do you mean 'never going to happen'?" I had an irritated tone.
"Usually," he whispered to me, "If you wanted to kiss someone you liked, that would involve telling them how you feel. You have known each other since we were in first year and you have liked him since we were in third year. Come on, mate." He was right. However, I was too cocky to admit to him that he was. I rolled my eyes and got back to my notes.
Maybe potter was right? I wondered to myself. Maybe I ought to tell Fred how I feel this summer at the Burrow. I was spending my whole summer there. I was beyond excited to be able to hangout with all my friends. I was really close with all the Weasley's and Hermione of course.
Finally, the class was over. Snape wished us all a good summer. I picked up my bag and books and started towards the door with Harry. Ron and Hermione weren't so far behind. We all met up together in the hall.
"Bloody hell was that ever boring," Ron said to the three of us. "I mean, yes of course potions are interesting but Snape explaining them... I almost offed myself." I giggled and nodded in agreement.
"It didn't seem so bad for Emilia, though," Harry said as we continued walking through the hall.
I gasped and jabbed him in the side. He just wouldn't stop teasing me. Ron and Hermione let out a chuckle. I knew the other two had known about my feelings for Fred but I was not about to spill my guts in the middle of the hall.
Students of all houses were bustling for the exits. Piles of suitcases and cages flew through the halls. I think many had the same overwhelming feeling over relief for the school year to finally be over. With the stressful year full of Umbridge, it was time for a well deserved summer vacation. However, the Twins' firework prank on her really did make everything a whole lot better for a moment. That is what I loved about them, Fred especially, they always knew how to make you smile... And how to piss the right people off.
We were supposed to be meeting the twins and Ginny at the main entrance so we could all leave together. Excitement was growing large in my stomach. Of course it wasn't the first time I had spent time at the Burrow but we weren't kids anymore. We were growing up. We needed the time to relax, especially Harry. With the death of Sirius Black and the Dark Lord still hot on his tail, he was in some serious need of relaxation.
Part of me hoped that my daydream come true this summer as well...
We saw Ginny. She waved a rather large wave of excitement and ran and hugged me and Hermione tight. She made it very clear how excited she was. She wanted to have a girls night every night, she had said to me a few weeks earlier. I was so happy to spend the nights up late and with my girls.
The Twins were not so far behind us. They looked incredibly large compared to everyone else in the corridor. They still were receiving cheers on behalf of their prank. They had become the new school celebrities. It really is too bad that they are dropping out of school. But, they were going to be fulfilling their dreams of owning their own joke shop. I was so insanely proud and somewhat envious of them. I wish I could join them, but I knew that I had to stay in school, for my future's sake at least.
Fred looked so good in his uniform. I know people may say 'Wow, they're identical' but I could tell them apart instantly. George was this kind, gentle person still with fiery edge to him, but Fred... There was something different about him. He was so passionate about everything her put his mind to. whether it be pranks or, even the rare occasion, school. He was so complex. I loved that about him. I always knew that. Even when I had dated other guys, I still found myself drawn to Fred like no one else. Oh man, was I ever in deep
I turned back and they appeared right beside me. I jumped and let out a small yelp of fright. Everyone let a big laugh at my expense. I can't catch a break today, I thought to myself.
"Someone is a little happy to see us, eh?" Said George, wrapping his arms around me in a big embrace. I laugh off my fear and hug him right back.
"So are we finally ready to go?" Asked Hermione eagerly, standing very close to Ron. He didn't look he minded it at all. Ginny nodded as she rested her head on Harry's shoulder. He loked a little stiff at first. He nodded very fast.
"I've been ready to go since I woke up," Said George.
He raised an eyebrow at Ginny and she moved off of Harry's shoulder. George let out a low giggle.
"Git.." Harry mumbled. No one heard but me. I giggled.
"All right, then. Let's get a move on!" Ron said. We all followed him and Harry out the door. As we were walking out of Hogwarts, I felt an arm around my shoulder.
"Hey, Baker," said Fred. Sweet Merlin, His voice is like honey.
"I heard about your little incident in potions. Dreaming of me, were you?" he asked jokingly... I was in shock. But I wouldn't let it show.
"You wish, Weasley," I smirked at him. He reciprocated.
"Whatever you say," he said with a wink as we kept walking out the door.
Harry turned around and looked at me and Fred. He raised his eyebrows up and down. Then turned back around.
This is going to be an interesting summer...
