Today's the Day

Izuku Age 8

IZUKU'S POV:

Today is the day!! Izumi and I finally get to find out our quirks today! I hope I get an amazing quirk like Kaachan. I can't wait to see how my quirk works and start training to become a hero! Kaachan, Shochan, Izumi, and I will become the greatest Top 4 heroes Japan has ever seen! I run to Izumi's room to make sure she's awake.

-Izumi's room-

"IZUMI! WAKE UP! TODAY'S THE DAY!!" I yell as I open the door to her room. I see her already dressed to go out like I am. "Niichan! I'm ready to go! TODAY'S THE DAY!! ARE YOU EXCITED NIICHAN?" Izumi runs up to me and starts shaking me. I think she might have a super strength quirk because my neck starts to whip back and forth from her shaking. "I-izumi! I'm a-also ready t-to g-go but please s-stop shak-king me!" She realized what she was doing and stops. "Oops, sorry Niichan hehe" she scratches the back of her head with a sweatdrop on her forehead. "It's okay Izumi. Let's go wake up Mom and Dad, so we can go to the doctors and find out our quirks!" "Yeah!" she yells and we both run to our parents room.

-Toshinori & Inko's room-

"MOM! DAD! WAKE UP! TODAY'S THE DAY WE GET OUR QUIRKS!" We both yell and jump on their bed. Mom and Dad start to laugh at us, but I couldn't care less. I'm just so excited!

"Alright kids, calm down. How about you let your father and I get ready and we'll eat a quick breakfast and then head out. How does that sound?" Mom tells us. "Who can think about food at this time when you guys are getting your quirks today!?" Dad says while he starts rushing to put on pants and a shirts at the same time. Mom, Izumi, and I just sweat dropped and laugh at him.

TIME SKIP AFTER BREAKFAST

" Alright kids, LETS GO FIND OUT WHAT YOUR QUIRKS ARE!" Dad yells.

"YEAH!!!" Izumi and I yell too while mom just laughs at us.

I can't wait to find out what my quirk is. Today is the day that changes my life forever.

———TIME SKIP. INSIDE DOCTOR'S OFFICE———

AUTHOR POV:

"Sorry to keep you waiting Mr & Mrs. Yagi. I have some good news and bad news for you guys. Which would you like to hear first?"

"Good News" Toshinori says

"Bad News" Inko says at the same time.

The Doctor just waits a moment for the couple to decide on which to hear first. "We would like to hear the bad news first, please Doctor." Inko says.

"Okay then. The bad news is that your son, Izuku, is...quirkless. The good news is that your daughter has developed a powerful quirk. I both congratulate and apologize for the situation at hand."

"What Is Izumi's quirk doctor?" both Yagi parents ask, ignoring their son's shocked expression of his news. "Well from the data we collected, it shows that your daughter has Geokinesis; the ability to control earth at will."

"WOW! Mom, Dad! I have such a cool quirk this is so awesome!" The three Yagi family members cheer and celebrate, but they forgot their other family member thats present.

IZUKU's POV:

QUIRKLESS. I feel my entire world has flipped upside down. What do I do now? Can I still be a hero? What am I saying!? I still can be a hero! I just have to train hard and get strong! I need to start planning training schedule and-

"Excuse me Izuku, but are you alright? You are mumbling to yourself right now."

I look up and the doctor is looking at me with a worried face.

"Ah! S-sorry, sir. I tend to do that a lot when I think to myself." I bow to him apologizing.

"Its quite alright, Izuku. It is not and issue at all." He chuckles a bit then looks at me with a sad look in his eye.

"Izuku, I am sorry that this had happened to you, truly I am." The doctor tells me. I still don't know how to feel about being quirkless, so I just nod my head at him.

"Its okay, sir. Thank you for worrying about me...but I do have a question to ask you... do you think I can become a hero?"

"...Im sorry, Izuku but I do not think that you can be a hero without a quirk...hero work is really dangerous and without a quirk to protect yourself, how will you protect others?" The Doctor tells me. Those...those words I didn't want to hear at all. I hang my head in defeat and I feel a hand squeeze my shoulder.

———TIME SKIP AT THE YAGI HOME———

AUTHOR's POV:

Toshinori and Inko make a huge feast for Izumi celebrating her qurik....but it is only the three of them at the dinner table. They have forgotten about their son that lives with them.

"I-i wonder why they didn't set a plate for me at the table? it's okay I'll just return to my room...I don't want to ruin Izumi's moment." Izuku returns to his room solemnly while the rest of his family are in a merry mood.

IN IZUKU's ROOM:

Izuku is sitting at his desk with one of his 'FUTURE HERO ANALYSIS' notebooks in front of room. He's just staring at it thinking to himself what to do next.

"...I don't care what that Doctor says... I'm still going to be a hero!" Izuku declares to himself. He heads to bed deciding tomorrow will be a day of planning on how to become the first quirkiness hero.
