The day it all came crashing down

I can't believe it. My father must seriously hate me. He left me to go on a 3 year trip because my mother died? He sent me to live with my mothers old best friend. Amy isn't that bad, she just reminds me so much of my mother that I don't know what to do sometimes. And now I get to live with her for the next three years. Oh and did I care to mention that she has 9 kids. All boys. I am not kidding you. And they aren't any average looking boys either. They are all the most attractive people I know.
Mind my rudeness. I didn't get to introduce myself. I am Halle Jackson. Yes, the daughter of famous model, Amanda Jackson. I didn't get my mothers stunningly good looks, but I am fairly pretty with my olive complexion and dark brown hair. Good thing I look like her, there's none of her left. But maybe I should rewind a few months and tell you about what all led to this.

My mother was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer a year ago. It all began when she started to have insanely painful headaches. It would happen every morning, and then would go away a bit in the afternoon. She didn't know what was wrong so she called in to take a visit to go to the doctor. The results weren't good. She called me and whispered that she didn't know what to do and that she loved me. Then she got off of the phone. I was so worried because she sounded so upset and I called my dad. He said he would find her and bring her home. When they got home, I was in my room listening to music. I was listening to oldies because my mom loves that kind of music. When I heard them come in, I hurriedly turned off my music and rushed downstairs. My dad told me to sit on the couch. I could tell something bad was going to be told to me. He said that my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer. I jumped up and ran out of the door. I ran down the street and couldn't stop crying. I dropped in front of this little park that my mom used to take me to when i was little and screamed to the sky, WHY ME? I cried and cried for hours after that. I finally returned home and could hear my parents whispering in their bedroom. I knocked on the door and told them I was home. My parents said goodnight and that was the first of many nights that I cried myself asleep.

A couple of months later, she died in the hospital with me, my father, and Amy all around her. It was the hardest thing that I had to do in all sixteen years of my life. And now, here I am going off to live with Amy and her crazy family. How will I survive?

She has 9 kids. The oldest is 22 and the youngest is 6. David is 22. He's graduating from college soon and is the families star child. His football career really kicked off when he was in high school. James is 20. He's in a band and really loves to work on his motorcycle when he isn't in school. Liam and Jared are 18. They're seniors in high school. Both are the most popular guys and it's not just for their good looks. Liam is the bad boy as people say. He hates being the perfect image of some snooty rich kid. Jared is the real sweetheart. He is exactly what Liam doesn't want to be, except for the snooty part. They both play lacrosse but Liam also plays hockey while Jared plays baseball. Adam is 16 and plays football. He's in eleventh grade and Is a total sweetheart. Jake is a freshman in high school and is 14. He's an artist and has his artwork everywhere around the house. Peter is 12 and is in eighth grade. He's the brainiac of the family and skipped a grade. Nate and jerry are both 6. They're really cute and were kind of a surprise for the family. They're little daredevils though, so I'm gonna have to watch out.

When Amy came and picked me up, I had almost all of my luggage with me. I had at least 12 big suitcases filled with all of my stuff. I brought along some of moms stuff too. After we loaded it in their car that was the size of a small schoolbus, we were off. They only live about 15 minutes from our house but I'm still nervous about living with 9 guys who were all close to my own age.

We got to the house and the guys were playing lacrosse outside with their father, Christian. Amy called all of the guys to come and help carry my bags in for me. I clutched my cheer and dance bag to my chest as 7 amazingly hot guys came running over to me. I said that I could get them in myself, but Liam came over and grabbed two of my heavier suitcases. He smiled at me, leaned over, gave me a hug, and headed inside with my bags. That's the ups of living with them, I've known them forever so it shouldn't be awkward. All of the other guys did the same thing besides Nate and Jerry. They came over and asked me to pick them up. So I carried them both in and Amy directed me upstairs. I followed her up the steps to the end of a long hallway. She took me into a bedroom right between Adam and Jake's. Maybe this house won't be so bad after all.
